I've never been hospitalised by an injury or the like, but I have stayed in hospital for surgery.
I had a tonsilectomy when I was 7. Prior to that I suffered from tonsilitis about once every 3 months or so for about a year or two.
I have been to casualty twice however. Once for a cut hand when a pint glass smashed against my hand. I knocked it over with my right hand at a restaurant, and went to catch it with my left. However it shattered on impact with my hand and cut me at the top of my palm, under the middle and ring finger.
I had an x-ray of my hand to check for any glass that may be in the cut, and then after that the cut was glued. I have a scar now.
The other year I went to hospital after I fell over in a game of tennis. I lost my balance and my right foot twisted sideways and smashed into the tarmac ground. I went to hospital later on after being in pain and being unable to walk on it.
Spent about 4 hours again in A&E. Had an x-ray to check what was wrong.
Turned out I had some deep bruising all along the bottom right of my foot and my ankle, and I had bruised a ligament in my foot.
I had deep streaks of purple bruising along the side of the foot. And I was given crutches, but I was incredibly stuff with them, so I just decided to basically walk slowly and gently.
Just a year later my older brother had the same injury. Not sure how he did it though. Was probably drunk.
