A guy in my clan is using lava hounds already. He must've used gems on his level 5 dark barracks?? Last I checked up on him, he had three in his camps. I think the lava hound will definitely come in handy, but it's DPS is virtually useless. It has 5700 hitpoints though, so air defenses will take forever trying to kill it which in turn defends other things such as dragons, healers, minions, and balloons.
Edit: my clan's trophy limit is set at 1800. If there is a way I can send an invite (I don't think searching players is a thing), I can bring people in of lower status (1200 is absolute lowest I'll go). I only know of invitation off the Facebook friends list or for people where I can access their profile.
