I ended up not using gems for it. While my town hall was upgrading to 8 and I had both teslas cooking, I had nothing better to do but raid for dark elixir. I got the king two days after town hall was done.

I farmed the stuff out of goblins for the resources.

I did that in order to make fast money (as well as to upgrade dark storage). I got 600k of each in one battle.

TH7 unit upgrades make the goblin missions so easy... barb rushes make the best resource farming method.

Played the game every day I got home from school, farmed the hell out of goblins, skipped on upgrades. I'm going to focus more on upgrading in th8 though. DE drill to help me get that barb king.

It'll be a while before I reach TH8, since I basically wait for my resource collectors to amass the resources I need

I didn't realize how much TH8 limits your loot from other TH7s and 8s. Goblin rushes on full resource collectors are getting much harder to do. Gonna start the goblin campaign and see how far I get

I'm back in a regular schedule now. All my builders are free again, so I'm going to try for barb king, final cannon, a mortar, and a giant bomb.

My king is upgrading to 3 and my last cannon is down, making them done until TH9.

I'm very slow with my second account. I'm relying almost entirely on collectors to make anything because I almost never have access to it. I wish I had a mobile device to use it on.

I also noticed that I've been in 1st place against Facebook friends for over five months now.
