Apparently that is wrong. The book shows that and says fix theverything work.

yeah, when distributing 5x - 3(x - 6) = 2 the 3 is actually negative when multiplying, as is the 6, because of the subtraction signs. therefore, -3 * x = -3x, and -3 * -6 = 18.

so in the equation the -3x would be subtraction by 3x and addition by 18.

oh i just googled an introduction to algebra and figured this out on my own

gggggg

3^4=6 so carry the 2 and subtract the 5 and you get

x=10

i never show my work but when i do

The forget kinda 8 is that?

5x - 3(x - 6) = 2

5 x - 3 ( x - 6 ) - - 2

- - becomes x

5 x - 3 ( x - 6 ) x 2

xxx 5 - 3 ( - 6 ) x 2
xxxx 5 3 ( 6 ) 2

xxxx 5-2 6-3
xxxx 3 3

Half life xxxx 33 confirmed

Distributive property with the -3
5x - 3(x - 6) = 2

Now combine like terms which are 5x and -3x
5x - 3x + 18 = 2

Now subtract 18 from both sides (You subtract because its positive)
2x + 18 = 2

Now you divide -16 by 2
2x = -16

And now you get
x = -8
