Wutesi greets the Atensians and brings with him offerings of goodwill including the customary shell beads.

Upon discerning the great distance these voyagers had traveled, he felt it was imperative that a more accurate map to incorporate the lands told of by these men be created. Under the spirit of the freedom of information, this map is thusly published:

Using these newly discovered routes, Rustuffe merchants begin to embark for far lands with copies of the Mandate of Bao in hand, translated in a plethora of new languages from the new countries and cultures being reached.

Rustuffe merchants reach Avalonia and Espovon to establish trade agreements in those regions.

Rustuffe merchants begin to trade with Astensia, bringing with them the strong Rustuffe lumbers and dried fish as well as various jaspers and such stones in exchange for the Astensian wines, gems, and other such goods. Newly translated Latin versions of the Mandate of Bao are also handed out for free in Astensian port towns.

could you tl;dr this mandate of bao

haven't been paying attention

is this like, confususism or whoever

Its in a way a conglomerate of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism.

Each person has a duty to the state in order to help each other, where the state has a duty to each person as the acting body of the will of the people, and all of this is to be in balance with the world that everyone can thrive. Theres also the Bao whom acts as the living embodiment of the will of the founder, that by following his will, the founder is in a way still alive, which there it gets more spiritual and existential sillyness.

Theres teachings in it about how to ensure the distribution of power, through teaching others and educating yourself, seeking wisdom, etc.

Its a religion founded on the idea that each person has to help each other and in doing so they will eventually be helped in return.

Christianity is already heavily gripped on the Atenisian Peninsula, so basically, you are't going to have much luck.

Besides, we aren't crazy Christian hickoroosies yet, we are still pushing that people need to trust in Christ and help one another in order to be helped by God.

So basically Atenisia only studies the religion, and might even view the principles as a good thing that Christians should follow, but they are still God fearing good little citizens :).

but yes trade goes on and stuff

Atenisia asks if they could get a lease for a little piece of land so they can easily base operations near Ru'sh Naal instead of making the large journey and spend money in resupplying through the other Asian nations/whoeverisinthecenterisland.

Atenisia continues to expand westward/southwest AND into the islands from its port above Espovon.

Indeed, the spreading of the Mandate of Bao is more of a customary tradition, and it is written in the texts to be understanding of those who would not willingly follow it, for they would have their own beliefs that may be true for them as well.

After much consultation with the Parliament it was decided that none of the affiliated tribes in vicinity to Ru'sha or Mawahae were willing to give up there lands. It was after this that the Speaker for the Merchants, Lithana, suggested that there could be a city that the nations would have joint custody over such as to facilitate free trade throughout the region. Right accross the channel from Agoria was an island of strategic importance.

Already on the center of major trade routes, this island is uniquely situated at the crux of four separate currents that the Mahowaeaens had identified.
The easterly Adrianic current at this point hits the Ru gulf coast current coming in from the west, allowing for ease of reaching this island from either Atensia or Ru'sh Naal.
From there the currents converge and the Adrianic current is shot north into the Estic Ocean, where around Mawahe one can piggyback onto the Ru gulf coast current as it heads south inland.
Also at this location is the Utesian equatorial countercurrent which generates a vortex in the small sea to the west of the island, which on seasons that the storms are not too severe, can be used to quickly reach the island from the south west and when following the same current bringing you back to the equetorial current flowing back towards Atensia.

Seeing the island as being economically significant to both nations, it is proposed that through the funding of Atensia, and the materials shipped from Ru'sh Naal, that the city be built and given local governance provided it follows the rules of the nations of Ru'sh Naal and Atensia where applicable.
Ru'sh Naal could as well provide the naval defense of the city should Atensia provide a garrison.

The city would be built primarily to house and repair ships as well as facilitate trade throughout the region.

Rumors are spread across the land that the great Bao will soon end his seclusion of over thirty years.

I don't think swat has read history or realizes how hostile differing religions were to each other.

Double post because mattering

Free forces and royal supporting forces clash smack dab in the middle of Saobar. The king marches right to the camp of his opposition and orders all infantry forward to take the hill. Poorly formed militia form the front buffer for the free forces. Trained Fydorsmann infantry quickly begin routing the rather untrained peasants. As soon as all hope is about to be lost, former Lifeguard from Saobar ride over the hill covered by regular archers of the army, making their way from another camp. The cavalry rides behind the infantry and their lines are slaughtered. Archers are then ordered to fire at the King's ranged units while pikes advance on their line of cavalry. The fydorsman army does a mass cavalry charge as a last resort, to no avail. Every front horse is slaughtered as they ram themselves into the pikes. The remaining cavalry is picked off by archers. The king and his cavalry retreat back to fydorsgobod under cover of archers. Once free infantry are upon the archers, they surrender.

The army is quickly brought into a marching order and begins to make it's way to Fydorsgobod. Remaining lords of Lotavik renounce their allegiance as the populous grows even more hostile.

More verorthodox missionaries are sent to the Siberian-esqe tribes to the North.

I don't think swat has read history or realizes how hostile differing religions were to each other.
I'm not an idiot.

The Mandate of Bao is more like a belief system, and doesn't really correspond with the Christianity religion.

We don't have to be hostile. Considering that a bunch of other nations have been participating in trade with different nations with different ethnicities and religions, you should butt out lol.

and yes i suppose we can agree on such a proposition with ru'sh naal.

first shipment of gold for funding and a round of builders/land clearers are sent.

Bear in mind that plenty of Avalonian ships pass by that island.  Should things ever again reach the pitch that they did, it would be a source of contention.

After negotiations and all that, Siderland's borders expand south, and Avalonia's Western Colony is able to purchase some land from Edbania in exchange for bureaucratic aid and military training, as well as some moneys.  Avalonia also establishes a new colony on the largest island to the East in that smattering if islands East of Albiton and begins to go East around Espovon to reach it.  Avalonia begins talks with Asar.

The Britonic States, with the blessing of the Council, attempt to arrange a marriage between its crown prince and one of the more prominent princesses of the Britonic States' sister kingdom.

well bear in mind you never asked :)

you can dock

but i believe money can be made on taxes and split between ru'sh naal and atenisia...

books of the ru'sh naal language and the mandate of bao are stored inside atenisian libraries.

Bear in mind that plenty of Avalonian ships pass by that island.  Should things ever again reach the pitch that they did, it would be a source of contention.
As the nation of Ru'sh Naal prioritizes the prosperity of all peoples, unless notable discrepencies are reported, there will be no hindrance to Avalonian ships, and they would in fact be welcome to trade and refuel as needed in the city provided they of course paid for the supplies used-
You may wish to review your post: but i believe money can be made on taxes and split between ru'sh naal and atenisia...
-at an increased rate of course supposing that Atensia agrees to this arrangement.

Quote from: Writings of scribe Ishi Kai at the gathering of Bao's return
The summer solstice of the year as according to our Atensian bretheren: 535AD.
I gathered with my fellow scribes as we were called to the temple of Bao, we would be the ones to sit upon the steps facing out towards the crowd of people. We were told there would be a miracle this day for the people to behold, but we should see the true miracle as was the Will of Bao.

And when the gates of the palace of Bao flew open we saw the miracle as it would be. For the Bao, in his glorious wisdom made himself alive with youth that told not of his hundred years he had so far lived. Indeed as greeted by all of his staff and every person saw he was the same Dyeong Sun that had become a Disciple of the Bao eighty years ago.

It was then that Dyeong Sun Bao had donned the title of the Immortal Bao.

But we saw a different miracle that day, more powerful than any elixer the wisdom of our tutor would have. That was the power that elixer had over the lives of the people in the crowd we were facing. For they all then knew he was the Immortal Bao, and their faith in his wisdom would be too Immortal.
Dyeong Sun Bao has through the secrets of alchemy unlocked the miracle to rejuvenation and is now the Immortal Bao.

After the ceremony a meeting is held at the Parliament where Dyeong Sun Bao returns to his elected position as the representative of the people.
Wutesi graciously receives a large estate on the island of Mawahae for his duties to the nation that he may live out his remaining years in peace and prosperity.

Dyeong Sun Bao establishes his own personal gaurd, the Arm of Bao, consisting of 1200 of the most elite trained units availble to his nation. Among them are the strongest of Titchwaks, the cunningest of Gungixians, the most precise of the Kastwata, and the bravest Mahowaeans. Specialized techniques are taught to these soldiers and they are held in the highest esteem among the Ru'sh Naal military.

Avalonia has traded in the region for longer than Ru'sh Naal has existed or Atensia has been aware it existed, and will continue to do so without paying tribute to any nation that does not bring something new and beneficial to the table.

Right, well, we are just saying if you are going to be a richard you don't get into our ports, that's a fair assumption I would believe. It's a big ocean, room enough for all of us, as would be Ru'sh Naal's view of it.
Currently Ru'sh Naal is handling the naval defense of the island and will allow Avalonian ships through. What Atensia does with it's ships is not our concern.

Avalonia isn't trying to be a richard, nor have its ships ever stopped on the God forsaken rock you lay claim to except in the early days of exploration.  Its only concern is that you're going to try to pull an Orshkal and that as a result Avalonia will get entangled in a massive and bloody war over trade.

Avalonia strengthens its navy in the usual manner, building new and improved ships and upgrading the old ones.  Improvements in chemistry/alchemy in the University of Nazgar have allowed the timbers and sails of Avalonian ships quasi-fire-resistant.

The island is merely to serve as a refuge for the wary sailor traveling the storm battered Utesian Ocean.
It also happens to be a convenient point for Ru'sh Naal to reach Mawahae without succumbing to Orshkal richardery.
If anything we were hoping other nations would rejoice at the idea of a non-aligned port town with the goal being the ease of exchange of goods for all those involved.

We're nice guys, you can trust us :D
