Was there the new CoD?
Yes, they had Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (not sure if that's what you mean by new, but it's not released here yet so...). If I'm honest, I actually kinda had fun with it. I mean, it would get really boring fast, but playing with a group of friends right next to me was a novel way to spend 10 minutes.
There's a new game mode called "Uplink" where you have to take a ball and either throw it or throw yourself and it (jump into) this big sphere in the middle of the map. It's actually kind of fun, and I managed to score 19 points, a team mate scored 1 and the other team got 0. You can bet the other team were not too happy after that.
tl;dr it's alright for a short time, not sure about single player, probably wouldn't buy it for full price.
Sorry, but what is this Expo? I don't know if it's PC or console or wha...
Sorry for the long explanation, but here's the gist of things;
EB Games is an Australian (and I think New Zealand) games retailer which is owned by GameStop. Since a few years ago, they've decided to start their own games convention called "EB Expo". Unlike most events, EB Expo is designed almost entirely for the public to try out the games alongside the media. It goes for 3 days; Friday and Saturday are both split into 2 parts each (Friday Daylight, Friday Twilight, Saturday Daylight, Saturday Twilight) with a 1 hour break in between, and the entire day lasts between 9AM and 9:30PM, and then Sunday goes between 9AM and 4PM in one big section.
As it turns out, EB Games/GameStop (in Australia) makes the majority of their profit over those 3 days. Everything from the tickets, the merchandise sales, preorders, exhibitor fees, SELLING VESTS FOR $25 (which you need to stay back after 5PM on the Sunday) and so on nets them incredible amounts of profit. Originally it was in QLD, where EB Game's HQ is, but as of 2012 it moved to NSW and will hopefully stay here.
I've worked 2 EB Expos so far, both of them with Ubisoft as a PR rep.
