That's terrible
Stop being lazy
Even if you are genuinely stupid, if you put effort towards your homework/studying you would at least have Cs

i actually studied for one of my tests and i got an A- on it (it was 20 points i missed 2)

idk about what grading system your school uses but 54% is pretty underwhelming
Not to be too critical though, everyone has strengths and weaknesses.
Good on you for improving, F to C- is a considerable improvement

I know a few people who aren't naturally gifted, but apply themselves thoroughly and get good grades and take honors classes.

I'm getting the same grades as op :panda:

While its a great thing you're getting your grades up, you should seek some help if you're struggling in classes/try harder if you're not turning things in on time.

What's the 54%

That's for math. Our class swapped 4 teachers, and I had a real teacher for 2 weeks, then for 2 more weeks got swapped to a sub for "class balancing," not learning anything. I went to the councilor to take me back to the official teacher, but she refused. That really affected my learning style a lot. I try to understand now, but if I don't get it I try to look online.

Yeah. I'd argue that being "naturally gifted" is worse because you don't develop study habits and will crash and burn when you actually need to study

It's good that you're raising your grades, but what you have right now is pretty terrible. The amount of effort needed to receive Bs in public school classes is definitely worth not having to bag groceries for a living. I've always been a person who doesn't have to put in as much work to perform well on school work, but you could easily pass all your classes with As and Bs by putting in an extra 20 minutes of study time per night for each of your classes. Even if it seems like a lot of time to spend, you won't regret it when you're 45 and not mixing concrete for a living.

Bunch of bullstuff. I've always been good in school, and even in college studying is pretty minimal and I'm still getting better grades than most people.

I used to get grades like you Hodot, but I've burned out something fierce

Thankfully, I do know to some degree how to study, but I most often just don't have the drive to do so unless I truly do enjoy the material, and the only class that holds real appeal for me right now is AP Calculus.
