actually i really enjoy this type of game, where you're essentially given a strange control scheme and are just let loose to interact with the world
like even goat simulator i can get behind fundamentally because on the largest scale you're a character in a strange and interesting environment whose only goal- and even then, only implicitly- is to wander around getting into fun situations. it's sort of like the modern equivalent of putt putt or freddy fish but a little doofier and somehow even less serious
i mean, goat simulator was still boring, but that's less because of the base concept and more because the game's environment and setting reveled in one single joke that they stretched as far as they could forgetin take it. i am bread feels more like a classic cartoon where you're given a basic goal and an environment to fulfill it in but you don't really know *what* you're supposed to do and can only really amble blindly forward and then something interesting will happen, then readdress the situation after having been flung off a table by a surprise boxing glove or somethin
