Author Topic: My sister is illegally holding alcohol  (Read 35562 times)

what's the deal with looking at research?

are you justifying being a snitch? snitches in any shape or form are the lowest form of scum and are at the bottom of my trust worthy list.
And so is the person who steals from their family

She'll learn that she can't even trust her rat brother.
How's that.
Is she blackmailed him she already doesn't trust him

If you break the law you deserve to be punished.

forget this world is going to hell

what's the deal with looking at research?

morality, sanctity of the human body being saved for marriage/someone special, etc.

If you had apparently already confronted her about it, it doesn't take a genius to see that you're the one who got her in trouble.

what's the deal with looking at research?
The funny thing is that OP is so obsessed with enforcing THE LAW upon his sister even though it's illegal for him to be looking at research, and it's just as harmless.

Again guys, what's wrong with a little wine? She's just experimenting, maybe it'll develop into something worse, but in most cases it'll just prepare her for real drinking later in her life. It's good to have an idea of your tolerance and how to handle alcohol before you turn 18 and are thrown into the world of booze.
In life, sometimes there are proper ways to do things as well as improper ways. If she wanted to try out wine that badly, the proper way to go about it is to ask for it, in a small, reasonable serving; stealing it would be the improper way.

There are snitches, people who tattle on others for no reason other than to see them suffer, and then there are people who "tattle" because they see something being done that could end up having adverse effects and is just wrong and needs to stop. You know what happens when people look the other way like this? Often those little problems turn into much larger ones (such as, EHEM, stealing).

pleaassseeee don't waste the time of the police with this pusillanimous individual-ass stuff, they have better things to do than talk to the parents of a teenager because she had a flask of wine

You shouldn't be watching it if you ain't even old enough to jizz yet  :cookieMonster:

I'd rat, snitch, whatever you'd call it, that having her being an addict to anything. It really isn't low at all, it's brave to speak out. Many people who keep their mouth shut end up hurting more people than if they were to tell anyone.

She'll learn that she can't even trust her rat brother.

I rather have her hate me for a few years, then for her to get into more trouble with alcohol.

Do you really think that in 15 years she will still say "you were such a bitch when I was 14 because you ratted on me for drinking".

You shouldn't be watching it if you ain't even old enough to jizz yet  :cookieMonster:

But it's cool to make it when you aren't old enough yet  :cookieMonster: :cookieMonster: :cookieMonster:

Health risks like...? Liver damage? Maybe if she's a raging alcoholic but I seriously doubt that if the worst she has is a flask of wine, and it's not just about tolerance, it's about learning what happens to your body. How to stay in control of your drinking, how to pace yourself, how to learn to say no.

WHAT ARE THE HEALTH RISKS?

Whatever it is that leads adolescents to begin drinking, once they start they face a number of potential health risks. Although the severe health problems associated with harmful alcohol use are not as common in adolescents as they are in adults, studies show that young people who drink heavily may put themselves at risk for a range of potential health problems.

Brain Effects—Scientists currently are examining just how alcohol affects the developing brain, but it’s a difficult task. Subtle changes in the brain may be difficult to detect but still have a significant impact on long-term thinking and memory skills. Add to this the fact that adolescent brains are still maturing, and the study of alcohol’s effects becomes even more complex. Research has shown that animals fed alcohol during this critical developmental stage continue to show long-lasting impairment from alcohol as they age (47). It’s simply not known how alcohol will affect the long-term memory and learning skills of people who began drinking heavily as adolescents.

Liver Effects—Elevated liver enzymes, indicating some degree of liver damage, have been found in some adolescents who drink alcohol (48). Young drinkers who are overweight or obese showed elevated liver enzymes even with only moderate levels of drinking (49).

Growth and Endocrine Effects—In both males and females, puberty is a period associated with marked hormonal changes, including increases in the love hormones, estrogen and testosterone. These hormones, in turn, increase production of other hormones and growth factors (50), which are vital for normal organ development. Drinking alcohol during this period of rapid growth and development (i.e., prior to or during puberty) may upset the critical hormonal balance necessary for normal development of organs, muscles, and bones. Studies in animals also show that consuming alcohol during puberty adversely affects the maturation of the reproductive system (51).

No matter what cause it's for, there's no reason to "learn what happens to your body" before you're 18, given that there are health risks.
