You're just mad there's a law against bestiality.
It also is simply not right to allow a child (teenagers included, even though I'm sure a lot of you guys are smarter than adults) who
thinks they can handle it to consume alcohol. Like trinick was saying earlier in the thread, the alcohol can defect or hinder the development process. You can't just step back and say, "Well the kid should know that. Its his/her own fault/choice if they permanently damage themselves." It's your own decision on whether you want to stop it or just look the other way, but supporting underage drinking is handicapped.
In order to deflect upcoming rages, I have answers to some backwards statements I've seen mentioned in this thread:
1) But a little bit of alcohol won't significantly hurt you.
> That may be true, but human beings are fallible and you can't just rely on a child's sense of self control. It isn't like you're going to be the one monitoring his/her consumption so I don't think anyone who says this deserves to make that statement.
2) The legal age should be dropped. 21 is too long and I don't think we should have to wait that long.
> 21 is a very reasonable age. The human development phase does not necessarily end ≤ 18 years old. It covers the bases for anyone who continues development beyond 18, which may or may not be the majority of the population. May as well be better safe than sorry and let the brain finish developing before putting it under the influence of drugs. Putting everything aside, breaking the law intentionally is overall just poor judgement.
