You cannot interact with the movie, and the movie does not teach you anything tangible. It doesn't develop you in any way. It's a disjointed experience. That's why movies are seen as "just a hobby".
Games actually connect with you, since you have to interact and you have to be good enough to progress in the game, which requires practice (just like studying for exams).
