Except that it does.

The 'sudo' command does not install packages. It gives you root access. With root access, you can modify any part of the system you want.

Steam is not a one-way content broadcast channel, it’s a collaborative many-to-many entertainment platform, in which each participant is a multiplier of the experience for everyone else. With SteamOS, “openness” means that the hardware industry can iterate in the living room at a much faster pace than they’ve been able to. Content creators can connect directly to their customers. Users can alter or replace any part of the software or hardware they want. Gamers are empowered to join in the creation of the games they love. SteamOS will continue to evolve, but will remain an environment designed to foster these kinds of innovation.

noobs get smart sudo is used to turn on your webcam and spy on you
wake up sheeple

And then you try to make it look like you were joking all along.
I guess the jokes on me.

I thought the

gave it away. Guess not.

Steam is not a device. It's a video game distribution service.

If you're referring to the upcoming steam machines, then you're wrong. They will come with SteamOS which is based on Debian I think.
I mean if you buy something you don't really own it, steam can remove your game whenever they want fr whatever reason
Smartass

But what about your post before that?

That doesn't mean they're going to let you modify the os whenever you want.

Doesn't seem like you were joking to me.

While what you say is true, Steam has always been very reliable for me. While they can just take your entire library away, they wouldn't.

EDIT: I didn't know this until now, but SteamOS is open source.

The source can be found here:

Unrelated, but can you root BlueStacks?
I've been wondering how to do that for years now.

I doubt it. "rooting" means gaining root access on an OS where that's not allowed. Bluestacks is just a compatibility layer for mobile apps on Windows. Not an OS.

I don't know for sure though. You should google it.
