From what I recall there is no GOG client, I could be wrong. I'll check it out.

GOG.com have a downloader, but otherwise the games are DRM-free and can be played without any client.

And no, they don't give out Steam keys alongside the game.

Multiplayer M&B isn't very good anyway. The game truly shines in the singleplayer.

Not quite sure. I know this sounds really annoying, but are you sure you're entering everything correctly? I used to put in the date of issue instead of date of expiry of my card and wonder why it wasn't processing.

Also, have you checked the exchange rate to make sure you have enough in their currency?

multiplayer warband is pretty amazing in my opinion, especially with mods like the full invasion mod.
