It really depends if you like it or not, but you probably will. I recommend Smash 3DS and Link Between Worlds.

they're exclusively feature additive, there's no "story" or backstory per-se. you only have better games with the later ones.

Yeah you can basically say that i lost all contact with nintendo after the Nintendo 64. So i missed a lot of stuff.
