that's not what everyone's getting at

the point is why the forget would you put miniature forgetin' plasma blades on the crossguard

unless they're like the training lightsabers and don't cut through anything but wtf would be the point

the plasma blades ARE the crossguards

iirc in the other movies the lightsabers didn't have crossguards at all. it's probably how all the jedis got their hands cut off like all the time

If you're going to fight other lightsaber wielders any handguard other than another plasma blade would be cut through and even less effective anyways.

if i remember correctly, according to the extended universe, there is material out there to withstand a lightsaber blade, so if he was gonna us crossguards, why not just use that stuff?

cortosis is the metal apparently and that would be less practical because you'd be able to grab the lighsaber from either side of the guard and render it useless

it's resistant and can short out sabers for a bit but can also be broken by abuse from a lightsaber too

no, not all storm troopers are clones. the cloning factories on kamino were discontinued in the star wars universe once the galactic empire was formed (it was either that, or iirc, they were destroyed somehow). storm troopers were enlisted soldiers. thats why in ep 4 we see storm troopers of different heights and sizes (the funny scene with the trooper that bonks his head on the door in that one scene on the death star)
