Author Topic: "No Justice No Tree / #ShutItDown" in NYC (Eric Garner Protests)  (Read 13987 times)

in case you don't know, eric garner is the man who was put in an illegal chokehold by a cop, and he screamed "i can't breathe" 11(?) times but the cop kept strangling him... needless to say he died. anyways they yet again decided not to even indict the cop so there's even more protests:

Can't wait for cameras to start getting put on cops. How does the officer and the entire local justice system pull this stuff immediately after the Ferguson situation started to cool down

i bet if he was white nobody would care

the fun never ends now doesn't it

and we have a VIDEO of this cop choking the man to death, but we cant indict him. are these all just extremely crazy, reoccurring coincidences, or are they a race thing?

don't want to jump to any conclusions here, but just kidding it's a race thing

even if these particular instances aren't a race thing, they are emblematic of a larger issue of police brutality, particularly against black people but also in general, kind of

funny that both times this happened they were resisting arrest and much larger than the cops. i guess white cops are just haphazard murderers

i dont care if they just punched an elderly woman in the face, cops do not have the right to put someone in an illegal chokehold until they die. mind you this was over stolen cigarettes again.

this guy talks for about a minute but then it shows the footage of the cop killing the guy. you can clearly make out "i can't breathe" while he's getting strangled.

even theft is not deserving of death. if he does not pose an IMMEDIATE THREAT there is no justification for murder. just watch the loving video. he was not aggressing, even if he was noncompliant. he repeatedly, loudly, states "I can't breath" as 4 or 5 police officers almost dogpile him. even when he is subdued, he doesn't act aggressively, he just slowly falls to the ground. he doesn't pose a risk to any of them, yet the officer keeps up the chokehold until he dies. chokeholds are not authorized uses of force by the NYPD police department. the man who subdued him clearly overextended his power and killed a man as a result. regardless of his race, this deserves an uproar

I like them for opposite reasons because they work more in the cop's favor.
