Author Topic: "No Justice No Tree / #ShutItDown" in NYC (Eric Garner Protests)  (Read 13988 times)

in case you don't know, eric garner is the man who was put in an illegal chokehold by a cop, and he screamed "i can't breathe" 11(?) times but the cop kept strangling him... needless to say he died.
By the way the chokehold is perfectly legal. It's done to temporarily knock someone out. It is taught in both the US Military and police. If done incorrectly or for too long it could lead to death or injury.

yeah except it's against nypd policy, and he literally killed the guy with it. intentionally.

the medical examiner even ruled it 'homicide'

but yet, the police officer wasnt even indicted.

Sounds like doing his job
Good on him

I'm perfectly fine with this.
you'd be dead

haha, didn't respond... again. typical, spewing his political views and giving no backup or reason to it. typical.

Do people have nothing better to do? Even if the cause was good this is extremely loving annoying and I'm not even there. This is an inconvenience to so many people yet they just want to save someone who is already killed.

i didnt know that it was a cop's job to strangle an asthmatic man to death while he was screaming "i cant breathe" but ok

you dont get it do you

people are fed up of the same exact thing happening over and over:
white cop kills unarmed black man/child by using extremely excessive force, isnt even indicted. and then they have to go through all the "none of those were about race" bullstuff. people are getting angry, and black lives matter more than a stupid loving tree

Cop kills unarmed man is the only thing that people  should care about.
If he was white, nobody would give a stuff.

Another thing is that they're probably causing more problems and deaths by distracting the PD and crying instead of doing something more civilized about it.

nobody has to give a stuff because if anything even close to this happens to a white guy or a loving dog the cop gets fired immediately

the notion that you think people peacefully protesting are nothing more than uncivilized problems that are somehow killing people says a lot about your argument i think

you think the people in the civil rights movements sat on their asses writing petitions all day? marching and protesting were one of the most common methods of getting stuff done back then.

wait lol a guy with asthma is selling cigarettes

wait lol a guy with asthma is selling cigarettes
that's ironic but irrelevant

ugh i've though of like 100 problems with this but i can't think of any good way to put them so i'm going to plop them in an unorginazed rant

okay so the chokehold thing? yes the cop should be fired and yes he should be tried for manslaughter, possibly purposeful. however, the thing with the chokehold is that it's SUPPOSED to stop you breathing, the cop just did it wrong and the dude died instead of going unconscious like they should. race? well i don't think this has anything to do with race, the ferguson thing involved a black kid robbing a goddamn store and resisting arrest (keep in mind ferguson's majority is black so there's really no surprise here), the cop was doing his job. this? they singled him out not because of race but because he was resisting arrest and being a bitch to the cops; just watched the video myself.

point is, this wouldn't be a problem if people would stop breaking the law and resisting arrest.

peacefully protesting
like blocking traffic?
wasting PD time and resources?
and burning down ferguson?
yeah ok

look man getting a whole bunch of people in a crowd ain't gonna change anything, all it does is make you look like a bitch

I'm all for peaceful protesting as long as they aren't getting in people's way
anything past that and they're just a bunch of starfishs

>excessive force
Suspect resisted arrest, your job is to restrain that man and book him at the jail. A suspect who is kicking and screaming in the back of a car is too dangerous to transport. Do they want the police going around hitting people with foam and balloon swords? Fight for your freedom in the court room with words, not the streets with force.
