Just buy emotes,they're 100 gems per emote (most of them) you loose a bit but you can actually buy them.

say in the OP something about how you probably shouldn't convert all your cards / emotes / backgrounds to gems, instead SELL THEM directly to the market for steam cash and buy bags of gems, you will get much more for their worth.

The thing is due to steam you can't buy bags of gems AT ALL.  I've tried for a full 5 minutes and nothing.

i've managed a couple of them, but yeah you're right, loading errors really are a pain.

My Steam inventory is very poor, i'm sure i'll just be immediately outbid by the billions of people who live their daily life obtaining all the emoticons, all the backgrounds, all the trading cards, and so on

Curse these people who have nothing better to do than obtain virtual items on a daily basis
