Author Topic: Steam Holiday Auction 2014! December 15th-18th!  (Read 3792 times)

Welp #2, turns out there were duplication bugs where people were duplicating themselves hundreds of thousands of gem bags.

It would appear Steam has shut down the auction for today.

Edit:
I tried betting on a game earlier but i swear there was a bot outbidding me. Every time i added even 1 gem higher than it it would IMMEDIATELY bid to the nearest 100 available. When i say immediately i mean as soon as it refreshes he is already above me.
You obviously have no idea how the system works.

You set your max bid, and if someone bids higher than your current bid and lower than your max bid it'll keep you as the highest bidder automatically.

Good ol' Steam community, always causing Valve headaches by exploiting bugs and ruining events

How's 200,000 gems even possible?
They were $.03 a bag and I had loose change.

How the hell did you buy them?

Yeah. Ive been hearing how some people have even spent upwards of 25 dollars because they thought thw gems were a good deal, and werent aware of the dupe bug.

The gimmick was even more of a disaster then last year's.

Agreed.
I mean it's cool that they are doing stuff like this, just not when it is completely broken and you can just pay your way to the top.
