This is a parody, parodies are supposed to be jokes about the original films.

Elaborating on what Nicepoint said.
If you had seen the original Block Wars (I presume you have?), I'm not sure why you'd expect anything different.
One of the philosophies of Mel Brooks is that nothing is on too high of a pedestal to be mocked. His first film makes fun of Riddler. In 1968, when people still remembered WW2. Another one of his films tackles racism. Yet another pokes fun at Star Wars.

i rate this 2/5 stars. the build quality is good and the 3d animations and models were well made, as well as some of the greenscreen effects. however, star wars is not a joke, and it does not deserve to be treated as such.
So you're rating a parody a 2/5 because... it's a parody?
Don't get me wrong, I understand you didn't like the greenscreen effects but I think rating it really low just because it's a parody is a bit counter intuitive- since it was meant to be one in the first place.

however, star wars is not a joke, and it does not deserve to be treated as such.
jesus christ lol

anything can be taken as a joke, people need to understand this in today's age

reminds me of those people who get super offended by those national socialist jokes, only this is much less offensible than that

whatever man, you're entitled to your own opinion but I think it's a very stupid one

after waiting the same 7-8 years for this to be made (and swholli let me see it before the release date), i seriously give this a 5/5.

excuse me?

by all means,
you're entitled to your own opinion but I think it's a very stupid one
anything and everything should be open to all forms of interpretation. nothing should be bound to any kind of structure like that

star wars is not a joke, and it does not deserve to be treated as such.
lol

You've gotta understand: people have been parodying Star Wars for decades, and this was a funny and very well made parody. Again, I'm not seeing the problem.

hopefully episode 5 can do better. i have high confidence in cowboy dude. he's taking his work very seriously.

You're gonna be very disappointed then because not only is Cowboy Dude only a co-writer (meaning you're stuck with me as the director) but he and I both have already started writing a comedy script.

however, star wars is not a joke, and it does not deserve to be treated as such.

Dude forget you, star wars' writing for the original trilogy was great because it had a blend of dark sci-fi fantasy tones and light-hearted whimsical tones. I don't know who made you the authority on star wars but you apparently don't know stuff

just because you make starships in blockland doesnt mean you know anything about movies

Here's the dealio my friends.

Episode 5 is gonna be bigger. There's just no stopping that, so in a way Planr is sorta right. We're gonna be more pertinent with the details and some of the special effects (not all because I don't want it to lose its charm, though Empire did have better sfx than the original, so we will be stepping it up a notch).

But the problem here is, what he's asking us to do is basically remake Star Wars shot for shot. We're not gonna do that. Not only is that entirely too unoriginal but it's also far too easy a thing to do. I'm treating the characters in Star Wars as if they were my own. It's like, fanfiction almost, except the goal is to make people laugh at some of the absurdities in one of our favorite film franchises. Like for example, the scene where Vader berates Leia on not slowing down was created because I always thought it funny that Vader and co. clearly scanned their ship and saw the damning evidence of transmissions being beamed aboard and then Leia has the gull to try and say they were just on some diplomatic mission? I always thought that was funny, so I pointed it out.

If you didn't like it, that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. But you can't judge a comedy by saying it was just "too funny." That's ridiculous.

So after seeing the movie almost three times here is my review.

I absolutely love the writing on this, it has some very clever moments like the Special Edition parody which is one of my favorite parts, and I love the characters in this, especially Darth Vader, the build quality is incredible, every single set looks excellent and with lot's of detail.

But the negatives are just something more technical that in my opinion if it was adressed in the final cut it could make the movie more appealing, for example the lack of any lights in the scenes inside the Death Egg, it looks dark and dull, adding a few ambient lights could make the scenery look better.

I understand the small ammount of basic special effects is a parody of the original movie for having very simple looking effects compared to today, but when you think about it, it looked like the most impressive thing back in the day, so I believe some effects should had been added, also it lacks a lot of sounds.

Judging by these different subjects I give the movie a 4/5, it could have been way better looking as well by adding and changing a few things lighting and effects wise, it also should had more work on the sounds deparment, but other than that I love it and I'm looking forward for Episode 5, if possible I'll do anything to participate in a bigger role.

Ummm why wasn't I credited for my appearance in one of the most important scenes of the film?

Just to add onto this little point here, shot-for-shot remakes haven't worked well at all in the past (see the remake of Psycho for example). It's an utterly ridiculous and pointless concept to remake something shot-for-shot, not to mention a waste of effort.

Oh right:

as Background Starfleet Orc

I remember we were all prepared to do this scene, I was suppose to be Hon Solo.
Too bad too much talking was done and no filming, because I missed the second round and didnt get to be in that, or have the Rick and Morty easteregg.
