"Now it is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that anything so mindbogglingly useful could have evolved purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as the final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God."

"The argument goes something like this: 'I refuse to prove that I exist,' says God, 'for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.'

"'But,' says Man, 'the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED.'

"'Oh dear,' says God, 'I hadn't thought of that,' and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.

"'Oh, that was easy,' says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next road crossing."

^ Love that book.

I suppose I believe that there is, at least, a governing being of sorts.
Not like aliens; just something that you can kinda notice every once in a while when you think about life.

I'm just sitting here probably being the only person who looks towards Norse Gods.

Thor, Odin, Aegir, Skadi...

God of the sky, thunder, and fertility.

I think it's safer to entertain the thought of a higher being, die, and find out you were wrong than to refuse the thought of a higher being, die, and find out you were wrong

i believe that someone had to create everything, that's why im catholic
but again, im not an obsessive catholic

...of course that is safe to say?

I think it's safer to entertain the thought of a higher being, die, and find out you were wrong than to refuse the thought of a higher being, die, and find out you were wrong

I guess, well I chose option 3, I don't believe In a god but I believe there is "something".

I think it's safer to entertain the thought of a higher being, die, and find out you were wrong than to refuse the thought of a higher being, die, and find out you were wrong
But if god was truly a forgiving and compassionate god, he'd forgive you for such a minor issue as long as you lived a full and moral life.

it is NOT safe. stay silent before you get flamed.

I like to think that a miracle is just something very good happening to someone in a good way. Most of the time though, only the person who was blessed with a miracle can call it a miracle.

IE: Dodging a bullet, being revived by a defibrillator, or winning the lottery.

I mainly just believe that luck has the majority to do with miracles.

does no one believe in the random number god

im pretty sure it determines miracles

all praise

How it's normally explained is in the same answer that people ask "How come God doesn't talk to us like he did Adam and Eve?". It's said somewhere in the Bible that the Holy Spirit now lives inside of us, and it allows us to talk directly to God through prayer / stuff like that. Stuff like the Red Sea happened because God's people had to be protected so they could carry the word. Miracles don't happen because we don't need them anymore.
