Author Topic: The CIA claims responsibility for the UFO sightings in the 1950's and 60's  (Read 2828 times)

ufo means Unidentified Flying Object, that looks pretty unidentified... and it's flying. i don't think i have to explain the object part.
i was joking

well this is a really weird joke for the cia to make

I dunno. Do you really think they'd miss the chance to poke fun at conspiracy theorists? Plus, the way they addressed it was too informal for it to be taken seriously.

im not sure what you mean by too informal, because it's forgetin twitter
but i mean sarcasm does not travel through text very well so im not really sure if we should assume the cia is joking about a sensitive topic (for alien conspitribals at least) rather than assume that they aren't lying when they say that what everyone thought were alien ufos were just them

There's no reason for a government agency to come out on Twitter of all places and say: "oh hey guys yeah we did the ufo thing LOL." If anything, any government agency would call a press conference or release an official statement. They wouldn't just piss about on Twitter and decide to spill national secrets because they feel like it.

yes because if i were a military defense agency for one of the most important countries in the world, i'd definitely come outright about our secret plans which could still be happening today on a random social media site that even north korea could access

those spy planes are were technically UFOs.
but those arent the ufos people give a forget about. they are using that term way to loosely.

but to be fair. alien saucers dont technically "fly" based on how they are described. some other tech would be going on XD

Well you have to understand the time period too. The US was in an arms race against the USSR. At the time nukes dropped by planes were still extremely relevant, plus there was need for modern fighters and interceptors. Look at these planes, at the time no aircraft like this had existed before. I bet if someone saw one of those, they'd probably think some aliens had come by.

Probably the most promising and ahead of it's time aircraft were tested and stored at area 51 itself. Stories of "ufo crashes" and big bad soldiers coming to take it, just prototypes failing and government coming to claim what is there before commie spies could find it. People getting sick after getting near it, probably exposure to radioactive materials/experimental fuels.

Ideas like nuclear warhead armed sams and nuclear powered vehicles and aircraft were pursued at the time as well.

ok i'll admit the horten wasn't really known as well by a lot but it still existed

Well the internet didn't exist back then, so they couldn't google. It would have probably existed as some foot note in a book back that very few people would have read about back then..
