I know it's been around for a while, but I saw Freek's topic about Nintendo trying to do the same, it just disgusts me.
Well, at least Nintendo did it right.
Hey look everybody! There goes the fanboy defending his favorite company!Cut the amiibos some slack. Unlike Disney Infinity and Skylanders, they aren't required to beat a game. It's
adding on to it like it should be doing. DI and Skylanders force you to buy the characters to enjoy the game. Amiibos have little to no effect on the game. In Smash, it's just a trainable computer player. In MK8, it's just some alternate outfits for your Mii. For Hyrule Warriors, it gives you some rupees or new weapons and whatnot - I don't know, but I do know it's not a game-changer. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is supposed to allow you to have a bit more health or something when you scan a certain amiibo. It's a change, but not dramatic enough for people to reasonably say "On-disc DLC! Boycott! Amiibos are a cash-in!"
