Author Topic: Does anyone else really dislike school?  (Read 4464 times)

the only thing i don't really like is the tests too.
all the teachers complain about them, the new PARCC tests really got into the way with classes.

eh, I think it's just handled really poorly

eg all they teach is how to pass the standardized tests and nothing more
I hate how testing dictates everything, not everyone is good test takers due to test taking anxiety and such. One of my teachers kept saying that all that was no more than excuses to just get out of tests.

Last statement,

School is a place for learning,

not for testing.

School is a place for learning,

not for testing.
that's the problem

american education is a business: the higher your schoolwide standardized test scores, the more federal funding you receive

standardized tests can kiss my ass

I hate everyone there

basically the only reason i go to school is because my mom threatens to call the cops on me if i don't force myself to go and i like my friends there

loving differential equations professor was solving something on the board and he got it wrong so he sent us all back home. I hate my classes, only thing i'm here for is a degree in computer science so I can get a respectable job back home. To be honest, most of my colleagues as starfishs as well.

School was actually enjoyable in Japan because it's such prone to trolls and handicaps as American schools are.
Just a quick question, what college are you attending?

I hate it when kids get mad when a teacher tells them to put a phone away, like they are the ones in the right.
Not only did they sign a paper saying its against the rule, they look like a douchebag when they try to act tough while walking to the office.

Everyonce and a while you get see a friend get decked by a teacher though so I guess its not all bad.

i really hate school because they expect everybody to excel at literally loving everything
my new world history teacher was angry because i was only taking one honor's class
i also hate it because we get way too much work and this is stuff we will never loving use school is supposed to be the place for work, not the home which is supposed to be a relaxation place

exactly! it doesn't matter if homework 'reinforces' your memory if the added stress from the homework makes you do worse in class the next day.

School was actually enjoyable in Japan because it's such prone to trolls and handicaps as American schools are.
if I'm not mistaken, doesn't japan have one of the highest stress-related school age Self Delete rates in the world?

i love school... well, high school anyway  :cookieMonster:

i love all the people there and am finishing my high school career with easy classes :))

it's not that bad, honestly

however, the fact that some assessments take 36 days to complete is quite egregious

also, I got top marks and 10th grade scores at my old school, even passed an end of year assessment for 8th grade, and guess what

they said I'd have to retake 8th

luckily however, some spots at the gifted school I applied to opened and I immediately got placed in geometry

not to complain, but I just think that schools are starting to really fall apart.

but what I will say is that homework makes a good study method, at least

i forgot to mention that my nails are loving destroyed due to anxiety/stress from school
