ok so there was this one game I downloaded a demo of on my DSi a few years back (something like 6 or 7 years ago) and all I can remember from it is that you controlled a character in a green field on the touch screen, and there were enemies that came after you or something

idk if it was even real or not, but if it was, I think I only got a little bit into the tutorial.

Just posting to say how loving proud I am of myself for finding a cheap budget title I used to play the stuff out of as a kid.

My original info I knew:

Quote
Platform(s): Windows PC, may have also been compatiable with Mac

Genre: Point & Click, Educational

Region: Australia, not sure if it was International

Estimated year of release: Between 1998 and 2004

Graphics/art style: Colourful, graphics were cartoonish and simplified but also fairly detailed. I don't remember the lighting/shading being overly spectacular but that might just be my memory.

Notable characters: There was at least 2 - 5 human-sized Mice/Rats who were main characters, and you had to play as one of them, although I think in each room one of the "friends" would also be around.

Notable gameplay mechanics: Game was episodic, and every episode had a theme. As well as the usual "Grab object X for use with Object Y", there were mini-game sections, such as one where you had to assign warning signs and labels to hazards in a kitchen (such as a burning hand sign to a hot oven or a wet floor sign to a water puddle on the floor).

Other details: Not sure if this game was only released in Australia, or if it was ever released abroad. Game was issued on discs that came with one of those weekly/fortnightly/monthly children's magazines, and each episode of the game related to the stuff inside the magazine. I remember one room was a store that had different types of cheese inside it, including goat's cheese.

Then I did some study on Wikipedia. I found the exact name of the type of publication is was; a "partwork". I went and looked at known partwork publishers, and the name "De Agostini" appeared, so I did a bit of research. Using the combination "De Agostini childrens game" in Google, I scrolled down for a bit, and found the image that I've been waiting to see for 10+ loving years.

The exact episodes I owned (IIRC) were "Let's go shopping" and "Milly's Birthday", but there's no way to be sure without buying the discs and playing through them.

SO loving HAPPY RIGHT NOW. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH .

There was this one game where you were a soldier(mercenary, maybe) and it was made by nexon. also it was P2W

There was an old PS2 fighting game that just threw together a bunch of characters from other fighting games. You could pick 2 characters at a time to play with, and it worked like "Marvel vs Capcom" in a lot of ways, like switching between characters, switching between movesets, and extremely powerful moves fueled by some bar

All I remember of the characters were Ryu, Felicia (Played her because of the bewbs, why else?), some vampire looking guy, and a motherloving T-Rex

Combat Arms, aka trash

there was this one game from like egames where you apparently hit these zombies with a hammer and they'd make funny sounds then die with a funny sound
it was a top down 2d
if anyone knows the name i will be very happy :)

also eggbert was a really fun indie game growing up

I remember playing a 2d platformer game with enemies that were guys in red robes and hoods who placed bombs, and it also had a map editor that was p neat

It has to be this.

I remember this game that was like an rts but you only controlled like 4 guys at once and they were special forces and you had to tell them where to go and stuff

There was also a plastic army men rts I used to play but I can't remember the names

For the first one, I think I know what you're talking about. Were the people Navy Seals?

For the second one, it might be "Running with rifles" but I could be wrong

i don't know if they were navy seals

Also I don't think the second one was running with rifles

EDIT: also i remember this one game that was like a diplomatic strategy game where you played as the US and you could nuke people but you had to maintain good relations with allies and stuff

There was this 2D tank game. It was top down, had four teams. Red, blue, yellow and green. The teams would be allied with the teams closest to them, and enemies with the one on the opposite corner. But the allies couldn't help you fight the other team.

I swear it was a sequel to tankpit, but I've googled it and I can't even find a picture.

Woops, the original first game was called Battlefield. That sure helps out finding it, doesn't it?

Ah! Found it! Battlefield 2 Rogue Battalions
