Author Topic: My school is crusading the Internet again.  (Read 3521 times)

Why the forget would you need to go on an illegal website in the middle of class

"Oh dont mind me guys, gotta download summa dat SEE PEE" - you, probably

I only know they're blocked because it says so in the guest Internet's terms of service. I've stumbled on some discussion sites before where it said Blocked: Drugs though. Imgur and DeviantArt say Blocked: Adult.

You know
It's never Reddit that they block.
I have made them block cryptic forums with communities of 10 people tops because I went on them at school.
But NEVER have they blocked Reddit

I know what the IT is doing over there.

I don't use Reddit but I just checked it and it is blocked here.

Stop nicking off the school wifi! That's for educational purposes only, buy your own god damn 3G lol

By all means do I support some blockers on the internet, especially for research, drugs, and even social media. My issue though is that I'm here from 6:50am and stay as late as 1:00pm (and that's still leaving early) with only two 50 minute classes and a maximum of 30-45 (unless I have outstanding homework from the community college, which is usually done at home because, whaaa? My syllabus can't be viewed on school WiFi) minutes of homework, which always gets done without fail cause I'm such a good student

Lol as you grow older it becomes less and less possible to complete work in under an hour

never said I took under an hour

never said I took under an hour
I assume you must have 2/3 hour lessons then lol

I dont attend university but I have ample amount of work to complete most nights / on spare

Dude when I was in school they never gave us internet, sheesh.

My college didn't block anything

What's with schools and their hard on for censorship?

My High school use to block Imgur, Puush, BLF, but they didnt block anything like forgetin facebook or any other site like that

though a while ago all of the blocks magically disappeared so now the only blocks I see are for "adult content" and "proxy" stuff.

My school blocks just about every site except encyclopedia dramatica

why should an educational facility have internet when they're blocking the entire thing

seriously i dont understand this, it is a waste of money.

our IT teacher just has the wifi passworded. why don't american schools do this

Wow, compared to everyone's school mine is lenient. As long as we use Firefox we can pretty much go to any site.

My school's wifi is usually slow as forget because of how many people use it, but it's great for gaming. I get an average of 10 ping when I'm playing TF2 or something
