Oasis is trying to say that people with Windows 10 should get free Xbox Live.
No, I'm saying people on PC shouldn't have to pay monthly to use our PC's.

No he's not.

PC Players shouldn't have anything to do with Xbox Live. Nobody on Windows is going to pay for a subscription to play multiplayer for 1 game when we have Steam libraries full of games free from subscription bullstuff.

Also, Xbox Live isn't just paying for multiplayer; it grants you a number of services we won't get, such as Netflix and Party Chats etc.

What. Why would you need Xbox Live gold to use your PC? That makes no loving sense.

Did you even see the demonstration? He was playing on Xbox Live with an Xbox One player on his Windows 10 laptop.

In case you didn't know, if you want to play a multiplayer game on Xbox Live, you must first get Xbox Live gold.

And? How does that change anything?

When you are on the Xbox, Xbox Live Gold is not just multiplayer. It gives you access to many services and also gives you special benefits. None of these services or benefits will be provided to PC Players. It would be silly for PC players who don't own an Xbox One or Xbox 360 to have to pay the same amount (or pay anything at all) and only get one benefit; playing the multiplayer component for any games that use this feature.

You can stop pretending like I don't know what Xbox Live is. I was a gold member for a long time before I gave away my 360. I was a loving Xbox cigarette since my "gaming rig" was utter-stuff, and I hated the PS3 for petty reasons.

So say some game gets released for Windows 10 and Xbone.

People on Xbone must pay for Xbox Live gold to play multiplayer on this game via Xbox Live, yet people on Windows 10 can play multiplayer on Xbox Live for free?

I find that unlikely. If multiplayer via Xbox live costs money on one platform, wouldn't it cost the same on other platforms?

It's not playing on all of xbox live though, just compatible games. The ones whose designers have decided to allow windows + xbox multiplayer.

Then you continue to not listen.

Online Multiplayer is NOT the main service provided by Microsoft when you purchase Xbox Live Gold. Microsoft don't even host servers for games, and expect the developers to do that themselves (Note: It's more complex than that, but the jist of it is that Microsoft really isn't doing much for online multiplayer). It is simply a paywall to convince users to purchase their subscription service, and they then offer the other benefits which are actually beneficial and probably cost Microsoft a bit every year.

People on Windows 10 won't have Xbox Apps because it's a free environment, and people would be using their own different services and applications. Unlike the Xbox, it's not a controlled environment, so Microsoft can't entice users to purchase Gold since they can't offer anything to gamers that we don't already have or have alternatives to. And since Windows 10 will not offer support for every Xbox game, they can't offer us free games either.

It would be a stupid move if Microsoft made this shared multiplayer feature one that requires a subscription by people who are using Windows and won't be able to access the benefits.

Stop acting jealous that PC gaming isn't controlled by Microrichards.

What are you talking about? The point of the Xbox app in Windows 10 is that you can play certain Xbox games on Windows. Some of them will probably be able to play multiplayer via Xbox Live.

How would the Windows player be able to play with the Xbone player if only the Xbone player is on Xbox Live?

Fair point, but if Xbone players have to pay a monthly fee and Windows 10 users don't, then I can't help but think that's on the way out.

What the forget are you talking about.

*Certain cross-platform games

You need to remember, the only thing the app offers is that we can connect to servers that are shared with Xbox One. We will still get PC ports of these games. We aren't getting the ability to directly play Xbox One discs on our PC.

How would the Windows player be able to play with the Xbone player if only the Xbone player is on Xbox Live?
Because you keep not listening to what I'm saying.

Xbox Live isn't some powerful loving magic that is required to make multiplayer work. It's a simple variable check which either allows you or doesn't allow you access to online features AS PER THE TRCs. You can find budget titles on the market which allow multiplayer without Xbox Live Gold.

PC players won't need it. We have no need for Xbox Live since we don't get anything in return. So far, we only know 1 title that will use this feature; why should I pay a substantial amount to only have the bonus of playing multiplayer in 1 game?

Fair point, but if Xbone players have to pay a monthly fee and Windows 10 users don't, then I can't help but think that's on the way out.
It won't be, since it's a large proportion of profit for Microsoft, and it pays for the benefits they provide you on the consoles.

Console players will continue to pay the subscription fee to access unique features and benefits, and PC players will get to play multiplayer alongside you for free because there's nothing Microsoft can do for us that is worth the fee we'd be paying.

Because you keep not listening to what I'm saying.
See my edit.

What did I miss
A huge argument about Xbox ports on Windows needing Xbox Live.

And MOTHERloving HOLOGRAMS.
