That's not necessarily so.
Your disappearance in the present day could affect your family and friends in ways you wouldn't expect.
Of course it would be slightly different to the butterfly effect, because you wouldn't know what the future was going to look like had you lived as normal, but you'd still be changing the future by simply travelling to it.
I suppose it's just slightly less likely to be on a massive scale.
Unless you're a very prominent figure in society, which might be the case if you've invented a time machine or are involved in using one.
