Author Topic: Things You Hate In Gaming Megathread  (Read 2876 times)

Games with extremely slow progression.

Looking at you, Minecraft.

And besides, weapons, hats, basically anything drops randomly.
except you get a different weapon for each class so you can't craft them and the hats are like unicorns

I hate when consumers of the vidjya games defend publishers and developers for stuff behaviour.

I can get myself decked out in diamond in 3 hours of course that would be risky as I would need to venture in the night.

Nintendo Fanboys.

I'm not talking about Nintendo Fans, I would consider myself a Nintendo fan. I'm talking about the mentally deficient handicaps who will suck Nintendo's rooster no matter what they do. While Xbox fanboys are pretty bad as well, at least they actually criticized Microsoft when they tried to roll out their always online DRM. I can guarantee that if Nintendo tried the exact same thing with the Wii U that the fanboys would just praise it.

nintendo also tends to target a younger audience which defo can contribute to that kind of thing. doesn't mean their games aren't good, ofc

and even if they start targeting "older" players it'll look super out of place

i think it needs to be noted that shadow the hedgehog was hilariously out of place already lol

but i get your point regardless ya

Isn't bayonetta 2 a wii u exclusive?

OT: I hate p2w games because I'm not paying $500 for a STUPID HAT IM LOOKING AT YOU TF2

TF2 isnt P2W
P2W is mostly on free mmos or games with micro -transitions where you can buy better weapons/classes to get a head start, or a bundle pack that say:
Gives 2 weeks of double exp (or similar)
Gives weapons that are normally stronger than normal weapons for your level

TF2 however isnt pay to win because:
99% of all weapons have balances that make them more or less just as good as the stock weapon
You can get every non-reskin weapons from random drops, or if your very impatient, can get each and every unique weapon for about a cent each
The objects that DO cost more than a dollar are purely cosmetic, and do not alter game play what so ever. This covers the cheapest stranges to the most expensive unusual.

I hate REAL P2W games, like games with lots of micro-transitions that streamline the game (Phone games, waiting games, etc),
games that restrict you from most of the features without paying a monthly fee (Most MMOs, namely runescape. I do not hate MMOs, just MMOs that claim to be "free"

I hate developers who put their game on steam under "Alpha access" and dont get the job done.
This would include games like Starbound and Pixel piracy.
This doesn't includes games like KSP, Starmade, Prison architect, or other games that actually update with content and are actively fixing bugs and stuff.
Speaking of starbound, i hate developers that promise one thing but give something completely different
(Starbound was promised to be an open space exploration game, but has instead became a linear game with an open space exploration mask.)

I hate really long tutorials in games that dont need it.
Civ V, some space games with LOTS of features, etc. are an exceptions, but FPS games shouldn't need a long tutorial, if at all. Id prefer hint boxes that can be turned off instead.
Along the same lines, i hate not being able to skip said tutorial.

I dont like not being able to speed up chat boxes. This is more prevalent in older games, such as Ocarina of Time and Castlevania games. I like it if when you press a or b it either speed its up or outright finishes "typing" the text immediately.

One more recent dislike is the Xbox 360s D-Pad. Makes playing some PS1 games a bitch because its not as well made as Playstations D-Pad.

i don't think there's a problem with pay-to-pace within reason but there is a point where it becomes abusive and unbalanced

when bigger companies buy out smaller companies so they can get the rights to the game and ruin it.
thanks for the dungeon keeper mobile release EA.
cant wait to go bankrupt.

Uh, do you know how stupid you sound wanting a company of thousands of employees to go bankrupt? There's actual people working at EA that depend on their paycheck to make a living, and you'd like them to be thrown out on the street just because you don't like their company sometimes?

did i say "CANT WAIT FOR YOU TO GO BANKRUPT EA"
i meant me. that mobile "game" is a cash cow for EA to steal shekels out of peoples pockets.

I guess this is a lesson to form actual sentences so people can actually understand them.
