Author Topic: String/yarn tool  (Read 3278 times)

A tool that makes these colored strings/lines based on your paint can that you can connect bricks with
Has collision so people can walk on it

Also if a brick is connected to a floating brick the floating brick won't count as a floating brick if possible

I remember a while back, someone made but never released some decent looking chains that you could connect between two bricks

Don't make them have a collision box.
If you want to have "walkable" lines, you just build invisible blocks under them.

But this would make builds like ships and cables look much neater.

I made a tool that creates a static shape between bricks for my Blockhead Bash mod I'm making.

Can't really be ripped out and released without being modified quite a bit. What exactly do you want it to do? Who can use it? Does it save when bricks are saved?

It could be used for many things, such as wires for city builds, tightropes and for obstacle courses/challenges and it should be public its also up to you if it saves with bricks

Well anything that's part of the build needs to be saved with it

It should be noted that you can't have ~100+ static shapes, as they tend to cause latency FPS issues with the game. Bricks used to be static shapes and they were abandon due to the issues. So if something like this does become public it should be used with care.

Ive have a system where rope could be set and specified through events from activation source to a named brick. Except the collision boxes were circular so you could slip off either side.
Make a system like that but with more "rope options": Thick Rope, Thin Rope, Chain, Bigger Chains, stuff like that.

FPS issues, yeah.
But not latency

Static shapes are not optimized in Blockland, and they are the only way this can really be done.
