"The Literal Towering Pillar of Hats"
-snippity-
resized because it's pagestretch

Just showing off a Ness skin for the Scout that i made, as inspired by MaxOfS2D's Earthbound Fortress stuff

Besides the Ambient Occlusion artifacts, this is perfect for use as an avatar.

I think it might also be artifacts caused by lights

I'm not sure why, but sometimes there's just artifacts no matter what settings i use, unless i just entirely get rid of the shadows or have big chunks missing

yeah i have no idea what that is or what hat that's supposed to be

behold the broken texture quartet

What is the directory given to $cdmaterials in the QC, and the directory given to $basetexture in your VMT file(s)?

Direct X problems :c

forget Dell

QC: $cdmaterials "models\drbeta\"

VMT: "$basetexture" "models\drbeta\DrBeta_Tex"

I've been drinking so I'll be brutally honest.

The only SFM videos I can stand (and really enjoy) are either;

A) Ones that take audio from good movies, TV shows or radio
B) Ones created by professionals who've studied story-writing and know how to make a damn interesting SFM film, and DON'T rely on TF2 heavily (aside from Practical Problems)

I really dislike most of the TF2-based SFM videos. They don't show off a lot of the really awesome lip-sync and animation work that's possible as when you have a good story to go with. Most people who use SFM are INCREDIBLE animators, but they don't have a lot of talent for stories.

QC: $cdmaterials "models\drbeta\"

VMT: "$basetexture" "models\drbeta\DrBeta_Tex"

Make sure that the VMT, VTF, and texture name used in $basetexture are all the same name, and if there is no typos or whatever and they're all the same, then i can only assume the issue lies with the SMD, you may have exported the model with a differently named texture

If that's the case, then open up the reference SMD with notepad and under where it says 'triangles', press Ctrl + H and replace the current name with DrBeta_Tex, it might also help to not have the file extension

turns out that everything was correct. i just forgot to put the materials in the materials folder. i'm stupid.

now to get it into garry's mod...

i liked the broken texture ones more

Might wanna work on the smoothing, i think i see a seam going down the middle of the model, like, not just the face, but also the body, it looks more noticeable on the bottom of the top left one

Unless that's just the texture not aligning with itself?

that's from the middle vertices not being merged
it's fixed now
