Author Topic: If you could design a videogame without limits, what would it be v99  (Read 3058 times)

So we're doing this again because I have another brilliant idea.

I would do a battlefield-like fps game with a leveling up system, but instead of it happening slowly overtime, everyone starts at like 0 every match and works their way up a bit faster, like every 2 kills would get you up a level and it slowly gets a bit more difficult for the latter levels. And of course you can change your loadout and stuff in-game. There would be 4 ways to win, capture all control points for a certain amount of time, drain the enemy's tickets, when the time limit reaches 0, and having someone get up to level 99 and killing the enemy commander with a gold knife or whatever, but they can't use any other weapon, to get to level 100 and winning the game.
And it would have ai.
Somehow.

So tell us your brilliant dream game you would make.

sandbox holocaust simulator 2015 with extra dong physics

sandbox holocaust simulator 2015 with extra dong physics
easily the best idea I've ever gotten in these threads

real life, but with a wonky physics engine and rpg elements

An open-world parkour game that has a huge map. While parkour is a gameplay feature, it's not the PRIMARY feature and you'd still have vehicles to drive and guns to shoot.

Think of GTA V meets Mirror's Edge or Hover: Revolt of Gamers.

Flight simulator that allows you to control WWI to Modern day aircraft with joystick control that will allow you to openly fly anywhere in the world. The map would be a scale model to the aircraft so you can travel from country to country as well as navigational equipment on the side telling you where you are heading. it'd also have a combat simulator so you could pilot WWII aircraft in historic battles like the battle of Britain but you are not a main protagonist but just another pilot. Graphics would be top notch and buildings, roads, land marks, ETC would be in their proper areas and the game would be updated every 2 weeks to add more buildings and planes. Also you could not fly over certain areas like Military bases or you'd be shot down by SAM or fighter.

what about a game where you can actually customize everything to your needs.

I think this is kinda what you're trying to describe, OP.

I just want a sandbox game where I can easily make a mockup of my tiny hometown and then go around blowing stuff up

A Super Metroid-like game with wizards and magic and stuff.

So you are the apprentice of a grand wizard, who then turns evil and stuff. With his evil power he constructs a MASSIVE tower that reaches above the clouds. The king then forces you to scale the tower and defeat your former master. The tower is split into different zones that correspond to different generic elemental magics. (Like water, fire, wind, ice, rock, dark, light) In each level, there would be different elemental power-ups that would correspond to that level's theme. Like there would be a wind power that would allow you to double jump, rock power which would let you cling to walls, and light that would give you health boosts. You progress through the game like Super Metroid, you find the ability you need to progress. The graphics would be 2.5-d with lo-fi models in a style like Blockland. I'll probably expand on this later since I've been thinking about this idea a lot.

tl;dr - Super Metroid with wizards and magic and stuff
