Light/Heavy Bowgun (going to craft ok gunner armor for it)

The farming is real.

Zinogre was far easier than I thought, though it's probably because I'm using an op as hell charge blade
X/A -> X+A (the shield thrust) -> X+A (element discharge) is ridiculously powerful and relatively quick

new to the game and I like using the gun lance, made it to the second town.
Are bosses supposed to feel like they take forever? or is my weapon really weak for what I'm doing? the basic monsters don't put much of a fight.

gunlances are generally one of the weaker weapon sets, dealing about the same damage as a light bowgun or a longsword. it's made more for people who like to play with elements and stategise than people who go in and destroy all the things -- then you'll want high-damage weapons such as greatsword, switchaxe, or charge blade

Right now I'm HR4 and on High Rank quests at ~90 hours. How long does it take to hit G rank?

see whenever i look at the quests on HR1 I always go
"kecha wecha ughhhh"
"velocidrome ughhhh"
"basarios ughhhh"
therefore never leveling up because it takes a long time to kill them (with sword and shield, at least)
