public school should never be mandatory.
the prompt implies that private school would be not allowed at some level of education

yes(not just public), we don't need more idiots in america

Yes, speaking as an European.

Should public school be mandatory?
As in, should it be required that one goes to public school?

Well, the problem isn't that it's mandatory, it's that it's horrible. If school actually taught kids things worth a damn and treated them more like people than just throwing books at them and expecting them to somehow live a more fulfilled life that way, then it being mandatory wouldn't be bad at all.
i went to a bad school > all schools are bad

My school wasn't even that bad. I'm speaking in light of the majority of complaints that come out of our school system, our bullstuff grading scale that doesn't even consider a 50% a passing grade, and, as someone once stated, people need to learn how to get through life, not that mitochondria is the powerhouse of a cell.

I debated even making this reply, because all you seem to do anyway is find places where you can act like a self-absorbed, witty richardbag to people.

Sure, they also unintentionally teach social skills which is needed for day to day interaction.

Based on what, a bunch of whiny teenagers on the internet? That's hella reliable, for sure.

"Half of perfect" is not going to be good enough for anything in reality.

This will always be the stupidest argument possible against education; there is nothing wrong with learning general knowledge on top of "practical" skills.

"wahh wahh someone disagrees with me they must hate everyone!"
Grow up.

I figured this would be a given, but that's clearly a miswording in the title. What kind of question would that even be?

I do agree with this slightly.  Though I think in high school, you should learn practical everyday skills along with learning general educational knowledge so you have a better perception of what you're gonna do and how you're gonna do it once you've graduated.

General educational knowledge is more important depending on what you're gonna rely on/go for later in life.
But, language and math (or at least basic math) skills are quite important no matter what you're doing or gonna do.

"I gotta be an starfish because someone disagrees with me!"

I forgot to add this,
Based on what, a bunch of whiny teenagers on the internet? That's hella reliable, for sure.
You must be "hella" stupid to this.

I'm not being an starfish, lmao.

school is so useless and dumb. who needs half of that junk to work a real job (makin steel, pumpin gas, oil rig, farm life). the way i see it (the right way) its just a way of indoctrinating you to 'societyies' bullstuff standards.
