Discuss your favorite DOS games and why.

For me, a lot of the DOS games that I played were mostly FPSs. This is my list, not in any order.

1. Duke Nukem Series. Why shouldn't it be on my list, both the platformers and the 2(1/2)d versions of it require quite a bit of praise. It's a classic in my opinon and will always be on my list of must plays.
2. DooM. Another classic game about just killing demons from forgetin hell, how metal is that? It's fun and fast paced, I still play 2 frequently along with other WADs and PAKs. The very fact that it also has a constantly alive community making content for it is amazing for any game that hs lasted as long as it has.
3. Wolfenstein 3D. Simple enough, you have to kill national socialists and win WWII. Also mechaRiddler is a thing in that game.
4. Commander Keen. Fun platformer for DOS and certainly a must play for anyone who wants to relieve in the DOS days.
5. Rise of the Traid: The Dark War. Probably one of the hardest FPSs of its time. Made by appogee, it was a fastpaced shooter much like DooM, but it was very insane due to the fact that you had to platform like a motherforgeter, before platforming in a 3d game was viable. Still fun, pop it in at any time for instant fun and hilarity.
6. Mechwarrior (2 more specifically, 4 wasn't playable on DOS). A game and series that me and another friend really enjoyed. While yes it has aged quite a bit, it's still a great Mechwarrior game that everyone should play at least once.
7. SIMCity. Ah yes, another classic, both the first one as well as 2000 are worthy of praise. One of the greatest simulation games of its time and certainly time consuming.
8. Command and Conquer. Yes there was actually RTSs for DOS, one of them being my favorite RTS series. Extremely aged, but still a worthy must play.

I know I left out some, but these are the games that I hold the closest.

Doom, Duke Nukem, SimCity, Civilizations 2k, Star Wars: Trench Battle, Tetris and Pac Man World.

EDIT: How the hell could I have forgotten to put Quake in the list?

I grew up with DOOM, Rise of the Triad, and Commander Keen (I remember 4 the most, I don't think I saw the first three games before 2008-ish).

X-Wing and Dark Forces are great too, since Star Wars is another large part of my childhood. Didn't play these until much later, though.

I really like the first two Elder Scrolls games

Dungeon Keeper for sure.
But i played a hell of a lot of Dune and Lost Vikings on my grandpa's old computer way back.
Two great games too.
I never got far in Dune, but someone else played as well, so i could load a save in a later level which was filled with much cooler stuff.
Never could get past that bloody level where you basically have to dozer over the enemy infantry with your resource collectors.
Only found out about that trick later and even then, they are hella slow.

Oregon Trail Deluxe all the way.

Star Wars: Dark Forces was easily my favorite DOS game.

How has no one included XCOM - UFO DEFENSE?
