Haha I know plenty about tumblr. Beyond the piss-fests, that site fosters a certain way of thinking, and a certain type of community just as any other website does. Nothing to be mad about, just poking fun at tumblr.
i mean it's hard to say nothing to be mad about when simultaneously committing a fairly massive genetic fallacy
it has 0% to do with psychology and 100% to do with your eyballoons
yes eyeballoons are certainly a factor here but if it were exclusively balloons of eyes it wouldn't change probably (going off the rods/cones piece, dilation and other temporary stuff caused by the environment who knows) who knows i'm not a doctor go tell your mom i'm crying
it goes sensory->perception; the eyes just receive and relay the information; if the information is faulty, the eyeballoons are to blame, but if the rationalisation (not necessarily conscious, has to do with attention and context as well) is faulty, the brainballoon is to blame
i think there's certainly a p fair amount of blame on the eyes in certain cases but i'd wager that this is more so people's minds trying to compensate for dynamics unnecessarily. i don't have anything to back that, but that's what i would test in a scientific study
