Bell sits in the squadron office, filling out paperwork for the latest deceased member of the squadron.

Faw hesitantly gives into Tippy's decision.
"Alright, let's go. You ever taste Vianan brandy? My treat."

"I haven't been able to obtain a drop of good drink since i got here."

The group finally reaches the Cantina. Tippy looks around for seating

I find that the marshaller who was once giving me hand signals for direction is waving his arms at me, staring daggers, trying to get my attention. I shutdown the engine. It dies agonizingly, whistling ever lighter, fading out. I climb out, and lower myself on to the hanger floor. My boots slam against the concrete floor with a thud. My gear sounds off accordingly.

The dying sun sinks ever towards the horizon. A sight for sore eyes because it is loving hot.

I see Tippy and Faw, heading towards the rest of the base with an FNG. And- is Tippy wearing Tanker's Boots? I shrug it off to exhaustion and absent-mindedly trudge towards the rest of the base. The thought of a comfortable and thoughtful shower seem more enticing than conversation.

I think from what the characters know he is either POW, MIA, or MIA presumed dead.

A small concrete building near the center of the base, the cantina is the go-to destination for broken, mentally-destroyed pilots and invalids who's only chance of survival is to get absolutely smashed and forget about the things they've seen. For this reason, the bar is one of the most well-maintained buildings on the base, and more than a few de facto "inhabitants" of the Bar would gladly lay down their life in defense of it's recycled aluminum chairs and surprisingly pleasant and high-quality stock of liquors.

Faw, Tippy, and Ralph walk into the bar just as the sun is going down. The usual crowd of patrons starts to shuffle in as well. Faw takes a 4-seater table on the roof of the building and orders an appetizer (a bit of calamari) and some preliminary drinks- 4 bottles of Aesthian mead.

Tippy settles in the seat and stretches. Her steel toed tankers boots bump into the seats in front of her as she lets out a loud yawn.

"Ah sorry."

She pulls her legs back to let everyone get seated.

Laces are for POGs. Straps master race. Steel toes, steel heels, steel soles. All steel, all the time.

Browsing the aircraft roster, Bell sees that a Raven and two Razorbacks are available, along with a single Corsair. She fills out a requisitions form for the Razorback, figuring that somebody else could make better use of the Shinden than she has so far.

I take a seat.
"I hear this Aesthian brew is pretty good."
I take a sip.

"Bitter as all hell, but it's alright."

I notice the liquors behind the bar.

"Bartender, can I get some rum shots?"

After landing, I head over to the barracks to change out of my flight suit and into something decent, then head over to the cantina.

Jaakko stands in the shower, leaning up against the wall, head resting on his forearm, like a drunk. His mouth is partially open and he's breathing out of it as if he were an idiot. He stands under the cool water and stares at the wall, wondering if he should keep his Rafale, or exchange it for the Corsair. He wonders if it could be true that the Rafale is actually just better than the Corsair, even though the Corsair is a higher requisitions rating. He wonders if the designers have been lynched for making the aircraft damn near impossible to interface with laser, and other ultramodern weapons.

Tippy pulls a large straw out of nowhere and pokes it into her drink and slips the top end underneath her helmet. Loud sipping ensues.

I figure I may as well get something to drink, so I sit down and ask for some water.
