I salute as the squadron commander walks past and starts inspecting my plane.

Bell looks at the unassigned F-35 in the hangars before going to do a quick inspection of the squadron's planes.
: Critical damages have been repaired, we think. There's still plenty of work to do, but if you got called up in the air in five minutes at least you wouldn't spontaneously explode or something. Hopefully.

I look upon my squadron mates and ponder the idea that my aircraft is still functional, as it didn't receive any battle damage, however that doesn't count for the stresses of flight in general. My aircraft shouldn't have any serious issues.

I quietly chuckle at the thought of exploding airplanes.

"Thanks for letting me help with Aircraft repairs, it helps manage my stress."

The squadron's commander walks into the hangar as if he's looking for someone. He spots the three of you and walks over.
: Kibble, Taylor, I need you two to grab one more squadmate, suit up, and get ready for a sortie. Imperials are in full retreat towards their fortifications at Taiton, we want to stop as many of them as we can before they get there. You'll get more details once you're in the air.

He hands a clipboard to Yukamo.
: And you, I need you and your team to prepare a Fulcrum for Guerra.
: Last I checked he was in the infirmary with a broken everything. Is he really in any condition to be flying?
: Not now, no. But he's recovering. Between the psychiatric visits and all the drugs the Mercanans are pumping him with, he'll be physically and mentally ready in a few days.
: ...Uh-huh. That's- never mind. We'll get on that. Good luck, you guys.

Here's everyone's current loadouts and plane condition:

This is your opportunity to make any last-minute changes. It's mostly an Air-to-Ground mission, so plan accordingly, but this seems like good enough equipment with the exception of Hawkeye's radar missiles.

"i don't know why we keep the forgetin creep around anyway. Whats the logic in having a drugged up psychopath in a flying metal tube flying at hundreds of miles per hour even if it Isn't now?"

"Yessir."
I run to go put on my flight suit. Once that's taken care of I head back to my plane and commence the startup procedure. I taxi out to the runway, and await takeoff permission.
"Tower, Hawkeye, requesting takeoff permission."

It's just those three for now. Don't worry though, literally everyone is going on the mission after this.
If you aren't participating in this one, ready your loadout for an Air-to-Air mission.

i'm changing the cannon and adding some missiles, and my fuselage should be fully repaired because it's been many-a-weeks since our last sortie

It has been a while, hasn't it? Well, unfortunately the technicians are under new management. Gone are the halcyon days of magic miracle work that can get your planes factory new in five days.
