Every use of a countermeasure (Flares, chaff) will automatically spoof a missile. So it's a 1-to-1 ratio of countermeasures to missiles evaded. If you don't use a countermeasure we roll a dice to see if you evade it or not, with a modifier based on whether or not your aircraft has super-maneuverable or clumsy. Guidance scramblers are the only countermeasure capable of scrapping more than one missile with a single use.

EDIT: Steam group is now up, everybody in this thread should probably check their group invites on steam and direct complaints to either Qwepir or I in case either of us missed anybody. If anybody here has NoZoner on steam toss him an invite once he's back from his hiatus.

well i only have 1 chaff, and 4 missiles are heading for me, and my plane isnt supermanuverable, and that'll make evadaing SAM's even harder

i guess i'm SOL

The Shiva goes after you instead of Gladiator, as evidenced by the pair of heavy shells zipping past your canopy.

The Kintharians open fire with their rairguns, taking out a handful of corvettes and patrol boats.

The circular crest on the bow of the Huit dreadnought lowers out of the way to reveal what appears to be a huge-bore gun barrel built into the ship. At the end of the barrel, near the breech, lies a nuclear device.

The admiral depresses the activation trigger, and the nuclear device detonates. Rather than destroying the dreadnought and its entire escort, the entirety of the destructive force is channeled down the barrel of the cannon, emerging as a blinding cone of light. The Kintharian detachment is entirely obliterated; whatever ships weren't completely atomized had their crews boiled alive and were drawn in and capsized as the ocean rushed in to fill the channel left behind by the beam. The battlefield is now covered in an eerie, visibility reducing mist, a result of the millions of gallons of vaporized water. The only reason the Mercanan fleet remains is due to their captain's caution, which put them just out of reach of the weapon.
