"No, not at all. I've had an interest in the Air Force, but I never had flown a plane before until training. The interest only translated into my buying simulators for my computer. I remember the instructors looking at me like I was a loving idiot,"

I take a sip of rum.

"The Air Force also seems to care for it's own better, or so I was told. They payed my way through college. What about you?"

"I- yeah, it did. I can't stop thinking about it, the people that might have been taking cover there."
I consider downing my shot.
"I didn't agree with that course of action back when we were up in the air, but now I realize I was wrong. You did what was required of you to safeguard the cruiser. We've probably saved hundreds of lives, both Malantan and Aesthian, by destroying that garrison. It sounds cliche, but it's true."

Faw drinks his gin.

OOC: seriously we must be the drunkest pilots in existence.

"I left college with a program engineering degree under my belt. I was good at designing automated systems. But that went to waste when i joined the army and hopped on board with the armored divisions. Both me and my surviving friend and bodyparts were transferred to be retrained for air combat and now i'm here 3 years later."

way to leave out the more tragic bits tippy

"That's kind of how I've been justifying it. If it weren't for what I did, so many more would be dead."
I down my shot.

"That's kind of how I've been justifying it. If it weren't that gas station it would have been the people in the cruiser."
I down my shot.
Faw nods his head.
"Not exactly what I meant, but close enough. Hand me the bottle."

Faw turns towards the bartender.
"Hey, bartender, do you have a television around? It'd be nice to see the news."

"That- yeah, I misinterpreted what you said. Sorry."

"I got a degree in Aerospace Engineering. It followed along with some interests in aerospace and space, though looking back- I'm not sure if it's what I wanted to do as a profession. And here I am, fighting the Second World War, against fascists and slavers,"

I take another sip of rum.

"I'll be happy if we win this war. Tired of everyone's stuff and the technological imbalances."

"What a shame that the world's premier technologica power Helios fights on the side of slavers and fascists. It's the world's most pathetic waste of all that tech. It'd be better with us, so that we could fight the slavers and fascists."

"I was under the impression that Helios was a bunch of recluses. I wasn't aware they gave a stuff about the affairs of the war."

"The robot in your room says otherwise,"

"They have some sort of deal with the Imperials. That's how the Imps built their dirigible fleet, on the Mag- drives they received from Helios. The supertanks that the Imperium has are probably also built on Helios Tech,"

I look at Tippy.

"There are also the Helian hover-tanks that have been spotted in combat. They might not have troops on the ground, but they have tech on the ground. They are making their presence felt,"

i'm pretty sure the imperium gets equipment regardless of whether or not if they're in a war

"The robot in your room says otherwise,"
that robot is a worker/servant bot. Not a combat machine i'm pretty certain unless re-purposed.

Tippy doesn't cut in. I stare into my once again empty glass.

"Either way, it's going to be a long war, even if we have the upper hand, a lot more people gotta die,"
