Jaakko rolls around in the couch in the rec room and looks at the time.

Gus follows his squadmates and begins to climb.

"Roger."
I form up with Shortsword.

Musashi, Yamato, and the Mook are the first contacts to pop up on radar. Apparently, they chose to remain at starting height and floor it towards your location. They are currently too far out for anything but RGMs at the moment.

It's about a quarter past late morning when someone rudely drags you out of your moment of peace and quiet.
: Hey Cass- er, was it Jacko? You know your guys are fighting our guys up there, right? How come you didn't take part?

"Should have thought this through."
I wait.

I join up with my squadmates as well.

Three contacts are displayed on the scanner. Richard targets an aircraft and fires an RGM. "Fox 1 on the Sulla."

Gus launches his own RGM at the J-20.

I look around, still groggy from being woken rudely.

"I didn't go because I flew cover for the carrier earlier today, and it wore me out. There was no CAP rotation either, the launch bay was damaged, and some of our aircraft had fuel compatibility issues. Why do you ask?"

The missiles track their targets flawlessly, up until a point where they refuse to maneuver and sail off in a straight line. The first three Kintharian planes spotted continue their straight course towards you, with Raiden-6 firing an RGM at Gus' F-35, and Yamashiro finally appears long-range radar climbing quickly, but there is still no sight of the Wyvern.

: I don't know. Just trying to make conversation.

Gus drops two packets of chaff and forms back up with his flight, hoping to starve the J-20 out of speed.

Richard notices the splash timer freeze and disappear. The radar circle follows suit, and the HUD defaults to the gun cross. That's not good. Did I do something wrong, or are they doing something special? He looks back at the radar display in time to see the contacts go dark between scans for a moment.

I'm willing to bet on the latter. "Outbound fox trashed. Watch your munitions."

Richard makes another ascent and enables his HMD. "We're coming up on the merge. Anyone got eyes on the Wyvern?" A single bead of sweat trickles down his left temple.

"I see,"

I look away from Yukamo and study the ground. I'm probably going to get cancer from the industrial grade herbicide used to kill the plant life on the base grounds.

"One of the fueling techs on the carrier mentioned that he had never seen a K22 before. He thought that they were myths. Are they that rare?"

: ...What's a K-22? Sounds Mercanan, but I thought they were only up to K-20 with their experimental designs. KA-20 if you want to be specific.
