"It's Geary's aircraft, have you not worked on it?"

"It's Geary's aircraft, have you not worked on it?"
: You guys landed last night, we only got around to working on the F-35. What's a K-22?

She gets out her PDA and starts trying to look up what you're talking about.

"Four engines, ugly, faster than the Corsair,"

Maybe I'll get grilled by command for talking about a top secret interceptor.

"Four engines, ugly, faster than the Corsair,"
She pulls up on her PDA an amateur video of what is allegedly a K-22 flying at high altitude, taken by someone who has never heard of a tripod and filmed with a potato. Though it's barely visible, due to the poor picture quality and shaky camerawork, you can definitely make out its forward-swept wings and protrusions indicating the wing-mounted engines. Part of the comment section is visible at the bottom of the screen, with at least one comment claiming, in broken Aesthian, that the video is fake. For good measure, said comment also proceeds to call the video uploader several different slurs.
: You mean this thing?

"I- believe so,"

I squint as if it would help.

"Straight wings, looks like the wing mounted engines there. I can't believe you haven't worked on it! You've been here longer than I have!"

"I can't believe you haven't worked on it! You've been here longer than I have!"
: Oh, no, no, I just haven't had a chance to work on it. I've been off in Hangar D, fitting the new warp engines on the starfighter that's just returned from the war in the Small Magellanic Cloud.

"You smartass,"

I get the feeling that the Mercanans would not be pleased.

There's a booming roar-bark coming from outside the razor wire.
: What the hell was that?

MEANWHILE: IN THE AIR

Gus drops two packets of chaff and forms back up with his flight, hoping to starve the J-20 out of speed.
Base EV 71
No piloting bonuses or penalties
Missile applies penalty of 70
Chaff 1 applies bonus of 40
Chaff 2 applies bonus of 40
Test taken at EV 81
Roll: 14 - success
Test passed

The missile loses track of you and goes for the chaff instead.

Richard makes another ascent and enables his HMD. "We're coming up on the merge. Anyone got eyes on the Wyvern?" A single bead of sweat trickles down his left temple.
The Wyvern is still out of sight. However, the advance force has closed to missile range. At this range, the Sabres' stealth capabilities falter, and you are welcomed with a coordinated barrage from the enemy squadron. Yamashiro has leveled off, and is now moving towards you with a significant height advantage.

"It sounds like a dog almost, in the manner that it's roaring. Rumor has it Deltan dogs don't bark, they roar."

A second joins in.

Damn, no sight of the Wyvern?... What if- "forget! I've got multiple fox 2 inbound, defending!"

Richard pulls up into a climbing spiral and dispenses flares. Yamato and the others are still a little ways below. With a little luck, the added altitude might put a damper on the missiles' ability to intercept.

"... Tempest! ... Hawkeye!" forget, what was I going to say!? It takes a moment for Richard to collect his train of thought. "One of you! Enable HMD FLIR and search low! For the Wyvern!"

i forgot to mention earlier but me and cypher spent an rgm

"Negative, the F-35 doesn't have that module. Hawkeye, you're ground attack, you should." I roll over and dive on the J-20 firing at Tourist, letting an HSM go.

"On it."
I toggle my wallhacks turn on the FLIR and start scanning for the Wyvern.

: What would a dog be doing out in the middle of a jungle?

(Waiting on operator and/or blockguy to resolve the air combat turn)

"Breaking off."
Bell drops a packet of flares and pitches the aircraft up. She fires up the afterburners and speeds up in a steep ascent.

"The Huitz use guard dogs on bases to ward off jungle animals. They also have hunting and attack dogs too, I believe,"
