Bell catches Tippy and Jaakko conversing in the corner of her eye as she is about to leave the med facility. Bell approaches, but waits for them to finish up their conversation.

what do you mean, "meantime"

its up for grabs and you're the only player that actually has req 5

you should take it now

If the req order doesn't get approved/processed before the next mission (which has happened before) then I'll have to take out the Flanker.

"Hey, Tippy, what are you going to do when the war is over?"
"I don't know. Nothing else really fits me. Maybe find more war. I know that sounds terrible but i've been in one so long i don't think i'd know what to do with myself."

Jaakko's calm expression falters. He returns his gaze to the earth.

"You'd have to find something, surely,"

Jaakko seems uneased at the idea that the war has become Tippy's sole driving force in life.

"Maybe i'll play golf." Tippy jokes sarcastically.

"How about you? Gonna open up a flower shop or something?"

Jaakko hadn't thought much about it.

"I don't know. I could try to get a job with my degree in the aerospace industry, but I'm sure that as soon as the war is over they won't be hiring, or they may. I- haven't thought much of it. I guess I've been more concerned with how the food sucks or if I can get the stuffty TV to work,"

Richard, head firmly fixed to the jungle past the barrier, eyes Xiaomei for a moment in a fit of anxiety. Should I tell her?

The cigarette, now only a centimeter away from being burned down to the filter, suddenly disappears into Richard's mouth as he inhales a little too forcefully, his lips having loosened up over the last few seconds. Hot ash burns his mouth as the cherry lands directly onto his tongue. forget! He reflexively spits it out, managing to look away from Xiaomei just in time to spare her from his spew. It takes a few more discharges to completely rid him all the undesired particulate in his mouth.

"A fluke..." Richard mutters as he tries to catch his breath, bent over with his hands on his knees. "... That was a fluke. Chances are you won't see me pull it off again, not even if you waited until Helheim freezes over. Gah, forget! I won't be tasting anything for a while."
: Ah. A fluke. If you say so. I'll try not to get my hopes up.

Xiaomei burns the cigarette close to the filter, then discards it by her feet, snuffing the flame underneath her heel.
: I've heard aloe helps with burns.

"Well met, Ilona." Gus looks between the three. "So it's decided, then?"
: Sure, I'll come.

i'll be sure to remember this time

i'll be sure to remember this time
in fact in order to make sure, i'm gonna start keeping track of player planes in an image file, since i tend to really fall behind on the player list for some reason
so i need everyone to look at this and tell me if i've got it correct. use this for reference if you can't identify planes by silhouette

expecting that ralph said yes (blockgoy pls)

The matter decided, Gus leaves the hangar and begins walking towards the bar. On the way, he decides to make a detour and heads to the requisition office. Perhaps someone there knows if the NAUC, Kintharians or perhaps the Mercanans will be sending some new planes this way soon.

Ralph follows Gus to the bar.

"Huit rum. My treat."

He pauses and remembers the burns from one of his first nights in the squadron. The faithful words he spoke are going through his brain.
I steal everyone's rum, and down them all.
"You snooze you lose!"
Ralph shudders.

"You'll like it."

"Huit rum. My treat."
Just to reiterate, because i'm not sure how long ago it was said or if it was at all: "Huit" is a slur, like jap, kraut, chink, etc. The "proper" way to say that would be to call it Deltan (the location it's from, also a lot easier to say) or Huitzitlaotani (the people who invented it) rum.

i wouldnt be saying this normally but considering ralph is a deltan i find it odd that he'd be slurring himself

Skewing the word Huit into Hoot or something sounds a bit more slur-like, in the same way kike comes from the Hebrew word kikel.
