Though the flares fail to stop the missiles, a lucky burst of defensive gunfire takes one of the seekers out. The second hits the main body, but isn't enough to take the transport down.

Enemy planes are now visible. A new airframe is ganging up on the two remaining Voyskrig pilots with two teammates, while the two heaviest damaged Tukrebs climb towards the clouds to disengage, and five start moving towards Mjolnir and company, opening fire on Snowman, Hawkeye, and Musashi.

Jaakko sighs and is left only with a feeling of guilt. He decides to go see his dogs, and discuss with the robot the possibility of it finding more fulfilling work, such as working with the eager Deltan engineer.

You find the robot scooping up dog stuff outside the barracks.

Jaakko approaches.

"Good afternoon-" his voice drops as he sees what the bot is doing.

"Gods, I should train them to stuff in one spot or something," he mutters.

Yui drops a pack of flares and pulls hard on the stick, trying to avoid the missiles.

Walter turns to Telarius (or in this case the unidentified aircraft) and fires his PPC

Faw takes a look at the enemy fighters from up high.

"I've got a visual on the airframe. It's got some gnarly engines; I wouldn't be surprised if that thing has Helian tech in it."

He checks his allies' positions on his radar before going on the comms again.

"Engaging the new airframe's wolf pack. Let's try and get them off Voyskrig's ass."

Faw fires a HSM at the new airframe, a HSM at Tukreb-5, and a HSM at Tukreb-7.

Jaakko waves his hand and the dogs turn their attention to him. He pets them and looks up at the bot briefly.

"I was wondering if you would like a more varied work. Doing this for weeks in and out, seems like it could be tedious. There's a technician I met yesterday and she seemed exceedingly interested in meeting you- Don't worry. She fixes planes, I think-," Jaakko says.

"Defending!" Lorens lets out a string of flares as the missile approaches and pulls into an evasive loop.

Faw sees two missiles explode near Musashi's aircraft. One of them nearly severs her right wing and the fuselage of her jets looks something like swiss cheese. Shortly thereafter, an indicator starts bleeping on his HUD, showing two heatseeker missiles heading towards him. He pops two flares and pulls up in an effort to lose the missiles. During his maneuvers he fires two AAMs at the pursuing Tukreb.

"Engaging Tukreb 2. Watch out for that new airframe, it looks to me like the gun is capable of melting aircraft. Also, Raiden flight here brings up a good point. Has anyone seen anything where these VTOLs could come from?"
Yui takes a moment to scan the skies.

[Mr. Hurricane]

"That I don't know. I'd have to check. If I had to guess, probably not," Jaakko replies.

The feeling of unease returns, but unlike the first experience, it is not compounded by an eerie environment.

Jaakko scratches Talko between his eyes. The dog seems to like it.

"I would think this kind of menial labor gets boring. Doesn't it?"
