Yui tries to retrieve her radio from the pack, then realizes it's completely hopeless. She considers drawing her pistol and going out on her own terms, then decides that's pointless as well, as lasers travel much, much faster than bullets, and she deserves to pay something for the crimes she committed. She sighs and accepts her fate, tears streaming down her face. Every single mission she's flown, and every single person she's known and lost and cared about flashes through her mind. She starts thinking about home, and how much she'd really, really like to be there right now.

As the sub thunders by beneath you, bridge and hull ablaze, the turrets cease tracking and point themselves out to the sides in their typical resting position.

Ellie adjusts her earlier run to take an aimed cannon shot at the starboard LAMS emplacement and does a pass from bow to stern.

Faw notices the SAM missile streaking towards Lorens.

"Looks like she still had one left in her, huh."

Faw buzzes Lorens and pops two chaff in order to help him evade the missile.

The Lucera slams into the ground outside the base, secondaries going off inside the ship as it skids to a stop, culminating in a final tremendous blast that destroys the hulk. The base itself is relatively unharmed, only having to worry about chunks of ship taking chunks off buildings.

Yui takes a moment to notice, having closed her eyes expecting an instant of searing pain, then death.
What the hell is taking so long? Am I dead? Did I just not notice?
After a few seconds, she opens them, then spots the LAMS in their neutral position. Her eyes follow the interdictor to the ground, then she simply watches the explosion. Tears continue to stream down her face, this time out of pure relief instead of sadness. She starts to sob a little bit, thanking every god she knows of.

The crippled ship smashes into the ground short of the base and explodes with a deafening boom, flattening the area and sending chunks of metal flying out at high speeds. The Imperial skyship is dead, and the Pertinax is still in one piece.

Faw sighs.

He could relax now.

Faw clicks on the radio. "Returning to base. Is there any news on Musashi, Walt, and Yui?"

[Badger]

"I'm here on the ground, I'll have to catch up with you guys later. need to sort out some things here including a busted engine."

Walter shuffles in his seat and looks at the fire crews bustling about, not wanting to open the roosterpit and get chewed out.

[Mr. Hurricane]

Jaakko looks to the robot.

"I'm going to go. Uh- Whether you can understand it or not, I appreciate that you take care of the dogs," Jaakko says, "When you start your work with her, you can come find me and I'll take care of the dogs,"

Lorens stares at the Tukreb for a moment before returning his gaze to the heads-up display pane. He turns on the autopilot, lifts up his visor and rubs his eyelids. That was a real goat-rope.

"Gladiator, Snowman, thanks for the save. I owe you one. Forming up on you now."

The Falcon settles in alongside the new actual for the ride back to base.

Time passes, it's now the evening, and the people who went on mission have returned to Valhalla.

The robot is watching Cualli work, Eremit and Pansar are at the temple, Kommandant is doing paperwork in his office, Virvel and Frisk are in the rec room, Coaxoch is in the gym, and the other two members of Raiden are on a patrol. (i think that's everyone)

Yui arrives a little later than even Walter does, and heads straight for the barracks to shower.

Walter heads to the gym to do some moderate exercise before he decides to go and relax, spotting Coaxoch on the way in he gestures a hello and continues on to a nearby machine.

Gus makes his way through the barracks, looking for Rikard. The stitches pain him, if not overly so, and he realizes that even in a t-shirt and slacks he looks very out of place amongst the base personnel.

Yui passes Gus on her way to the showers, looking shaken up. She waves feebly as she passes, either not noticing or simply not caring about his odd choice of clothing or that he's out of the infirmary.

Jaakko is having dinner in the mess. The dogs are in Jaakko's room, where he has left them for the time being.

After asking around, you are told where he is. You go to his office and knock on the door.
: Come in.

Walter leans over to make sure his boots are correctly tied and comfortable and looks up across to speak to coaxoch

"Anything interesting happen around here during the recent mission?"

[carolcat]

Cualli hops off the plane she was working on, wiping the sweat off her forehead. She looks at the robot. "Pack up those tools for me," she tells him, "and set the case on that workbench over there. Mjolnir's back, so now we get to go see what kind of stuff we have to do."

She waits for the robot to do as it's told while she freshens up a bit.
