Lorens eventually breaks the stalemate and moves his pieces forward, but after a series of exchanges and a few mistakes, he eventually loses his grip over the game. Gus gets a pawn to the other side of the board, and cleans up the last few pawns on the board. The game ends with Lorens' king as the last piece standing against Gus' queen, knight and king.
"I think that's the game. Well played," Lorens says. He extends a hand to the victor before realizing his palms are dripping with sweat.
