Markus begins following, still in a state of disbelief that this is actually what he's doing, and thinking that he's crazy.
What the hell have I come to?

Walter just puts on a subtle grin and follows along

Jaakko is wearing the same serious scowl. He'd have loved to have dropped the airship onto the Imperial capital if this were any other day. Or gutted the officer currently leading them Gods know where. However fate, or circumstance, has caused him to fight on the side of the Imperials, if only to stop the end of the world, and if only for a day.

Tippy remains expressionless. Keeping constant track of where they are going. She observes different faces as she walks by, staring down whoever is staring at her. The kintharians are being taken for fools and so are you.

Tippy begins to doubt more and more about the nuclear story. these guys have every reason to lie about that. They WERE losing.

Bell tries to get in contact with some of the other flight leads in the fleet, besides Kommandmant because he probably has a good idea of how to engage against the defectors already.
You are granted an open channel to the squadrons currently in the air.

[12:04 PM]operator: I'll probably just dm the suggestions since I don't really have a good way to lay them out in a post atm
: Now that you're done, get your squadron back to your planes. Your new mission is going to be to engage and destroy a line of static defenses off the coast to allow our fleet more room to maneuver. Refit if you must.

The defector squadron leaves Raiden behind and is led about halfway down one of the Indomitus' flight decks before detouring into a side hallway. Passing by one of the Imperial squadrons receiving instruction from their commander outside the doorway, a few words are able to be picked out owing to the fact that they aren't actually in Gothic.
: What the hell are they doing here?

A few dozen paces down the hall, and the officer ushers the group into a rather spartan-looking ready room. The pilots take their seats and the officer begins the briefing.
: These are the forces our satellites have been able to identify converging on our capital. Fifteen Brynhildr-class aerial cruisers, nine Block I and six Block II; three Blixtkrig-class flying carriers, one Tordenskjold-class carrier, and nine Blackjack bombers. All aircraft in this formation except the carriers themselves are nuclear-capable, and we must assume all are nuclear-armed. The Blackjacks in particular are of our greatest concern at the moment, as they possess the speed and relatively small size to slip past our offshore anti-aircraft platforms. If they are allowed past the outer defenses, they will be able to carpet bomb our inland defensive locations along the cruisers' path and limit our ability to respond to the heavy hitters. Your mission will be to shoot them down. Also on this mission will be the Fourth Indomitus Air Squadron, callsign Gulth; and the Fifteenth Trainee Evaluation Squadron, callsign Indikos. Is there anything else you need explained?

Tippy raises her hand

"Will we be able to modify our loadouts? We'll know what to bring."

Tippy raises her hand

"Will we be able to modify our loadouts? We'll know what to bring."
: Tell me what you want, and I will pass it along to our air crews.

"Given the possibility we are shot down on your soil will we be able to be identified and not get mixed up as POW's? That's my only concern at this time as I'm expecting the NAUC might want my strike craft out of the picture fast."

: You will be brought new identification patches before takeoff. As for you in particular, if you want to forgo your strike plane for something more nimble, we have a pilot injured and unable to fly on board- his plane is yours, if you prove here you can be trusted.

"I'll likely stick with my strike craft as it might prove quite useful for you. I am curious what model the plane is though given I need to take it."

"I suppose it'd be best that your engineers wouldn't have to maintenance an enemy prototype with the potential to blow up on them between sorties." Walter knocks with his knuckles lightly on his metal leg  "I'll take up the offer given I'm granted trust to do so."

Walter pauses for a moment and mulls over what he should do to prove himself

"I can't really come up with something to prove myself other than not immediately poking a large hole through the carrier deck when I landed earlier."

Jaakko gnashes his teeth as he thinks about the Aesthian ships. Blixtkrig, Vaktare, and Grym all jump out at him. All of them he had seen before. He feels as if he's made a grave mistake. It seemed surreal that he was sitting in an Imperial ready room, and preparing to fight his countrymen.

He looks around briefly. It's unreal. And Tippy and Walt are right beside him! And Virvel and Scorch and Blackeye!

Aesthia wouldn't take him again. Why had he said that he would return to Aesthia? They'd shoot him. He'll have to run off to Mercana eventually. If he wanted to continue to fight the Imperials in the future, he'd have to do it on his own.

Was that even possible?

At least Tippy is here.

: Not backing down just because you're going against your former countrymen is a good start. If there are no other questions, you are dismissed. For the time being you are to remain on flight deck three.

Tippy pops her knuckles, stands up and heads for the third flight deck
