There will be a portal 3, but it's most likely going to be released at the same time or after half life 3 is released, considering that the two exist in the same universe and (spoiler) chell is now in the overworld of said universe

At what point in Portal 2 is a old/damaged npc atlas behind a door that you open with a lever.
I'm not saying it's Portal 3, but whatever we just saw probably takes place a while after Portal 2's multiplayer ending.
