Germany begins to follow Sweden in hope to find some way to relieve themselves of the Great Recession, or atleast soften the blow of it.

like build up the infrastructure in Austria, the Netherlands, and your home country.

I am issuing a formal complaint against Operator.

You have an orbital what?

i put conventional missiles on spaceships

they are also conducting tests of a missile-launched net system to bundle debris together for pickup.

HIV doesn't spread like the plague.

Just give people extra large sized condoms and teach proper medical care.

It did in our nation. We handed out condoms to every village existing and the only outcome was an even heavier spike in the population of infected individuals.

How would that cause a larger spike of infection?

Do you understand how HIV spreads?

OP, it isn't as easy as that.

Besides, debris are different than propelled missiles.

take a step back you two and look at what you're talking about

In a series of tests, the Swedish Air Force and the Swedish Space Command has the FEX-2 "Anka" shoot down an unmanned Swedish F-18 Hornet target with missiles from low Earth orbit. The next few tests involve destroying satellite targets and intercepting rockets simulating ballistic missiles.

Sweden continues their SSTO development program

Well then your tests were bullstuff too.

This. Is. 2008.

low orbit missiles are fundamentally impractical due to the costs involved, but they've been technologically possible ever since the cold war lol

Pharaoh Times
a Egyptian newspapier

- The Beni Suef Space Center is finished. New space projects are expected to come in then future.
- Sweden is being watched as of this announcement...

well he wouldn't really have been able to fund it then lol

that is what I am really getting to here

no, the costs are relevant to the fact that they're just individual missiles

sweden could probably afford setting them up, but for the price of one low orbit missile array he could buy a hundred SAM equivalents on the ground, fitted with more potent missiles

it's a last resort if atmospheric interception fails, we don't exactly have a stockpile of super cool space missiles

i mean, it's a nice concept for fixed course target engagements, but it's completely impractical for atmospheric targets because in every scenario where you'd struggle taking something out with ground SAMs you wouldn't have a chance with something that's basically on a fixed course until it's completed atmospheric re-entry

in other news, i suggest holding off on your SSTO until 2020. SSTO with a cargo hold in 2025.

i mean, the concept for shooting down ICBMs in low orbit has been around since before we reached the moon

the US and NATO has operated a system for shooting down ICBMs in the low orbit stage since like, the 70s, except they use ground-to-air

there isnt really a difference if they're launched from space to air or ground to air, it'd probably be more successful in space because it'd be quicker and easier

i mean, it'd also be a lot more expensive and harder to restock ammunition

hes completely within reason lol, stop trying to police outer space stuff

basically this

hm yes

after some uh, research, it is within reason
but definitely not a sweden thing to do, but ofc, alternative history
