to defend european territories? yea

to defend the USA? minimal. Practically all defense forces are minimally-trained volunteers with a few units of normal infantry. However, most of them are used in defending cities as well.

Germany looks to trying to heal their territory's industrial levels as well. Temporary housing is set up within city centers for some of those left homeless from the war, though they can't at all fit everyone.
